The manager has never given us trouble, and when we first started going about 10 years ago, I was in my mid twenties. There are alot of people in the rooms around you that like to stay up and party, and depending on what month and days you stay there, they can get loud, but you are staying in a resort town, so that is to be expected. We have a big vacation planned for later in the year, so we decided to go as inexpensive as we could. This hotel is a far cry from a hotel with a large ocean veiw balcony, but if you want a quick OC vacation for a couple of days, this place will work. Here are a few things you should know: #1 there is no phone in the room, #2 the upstairs walkways get SUPER hot, don't walk on them in bare feet!!! #3 the water can go from cold to hot and back again in no time flat, be carefull of that when you put your kids in there. The room was just as clean as any room we've been in, including the expensive ones, and that was important. When you stay in an inexpensive hotel, you run the risk of having party animals next to you or over you. Be ready for that. We had some next door that came home at 2am and spoke rather loudly for about an hour. No biggie. I suspect that some of the reviewers were of this ilk, and had the manager up in arms. Don't bother with their review. This is from a family of 4 with a 7 and 8 year old, so it's as accurate as I can be. We spent two quick days there, and would recommend it for like minded individuals. Ooops, almost forgot, they don't give you shampoo. Had to run to cvs for that. Take it for what it's worth. The Manager's not creepy, he works VERY hard, and the ladies who clean the rooms do a great job. Didn't take any of our gadgets. They do have a WiFi connect. It's not strong but it works. Management is always hospitable and rooms are always clean. They even would lend us a hose and give us old towels to wash our bikes out back! The old grumpy owner of the crab restraunt complained about getting water in his parking lot, but if you spray him with the hose he goes back inside where he belongs! He spent the entire weekend trying to look into our room through the window, and the door when we had it open. We were not offered clean towels the whole weekend, and the Hotel Manager threatened another member of our party by saying he would max out his credit card if there was any damage done to the room. This wasn't when we signed in, this was our last night there. He said this withour provocation. A different member of our party fell and split his head open and when the cops drove by and saw it, they pulled in to see if he was ok. When the hotel manager found out we weren't in ANY trouble from the cops at all, he insisted we leave the room immediately. It was 4:30 a.m., and we had no where to go. We had to sleep in the car, and cut our vacation short because we did not have the money for another hotel. We then caught them video taping our car after it was moved off of the hotel's property... DO NOT stay at this hotel. Your vacation will be miserable. I'm seriously considering a lawsuit against the owners. And just so anyone reading this review knows, we are not punk kids who went down there and started all kinds of problems. Upper floor room was excellent. Arrived quite late for check in, no problem. Easy access to the Hwy and very close to the beach, which wasn't crowded.
