It is rated as the Family Playground resort of the USA by Travel Magazines.Resort Experience:The resort has been around for several years, but the upkeep is very good. It is worth the Gold Crown rating it has. Outdoor swimming year round is unique.
Farmer Jason has some neat planting ideas and a "round" farm on the site.

We had the three bedroom unit for 10

We had the three bedroom unit for 10 people. It had two full bathrooms. The master had a two person whirlpool tub. The second bathroom had a laundry unit in it.
The kitchen and dining area are very large and easy to work in and entertain in. You name it, the kitchen had it.
The living room had a gas fireplace and a deck off of it. The bedrooms had different setup. The master had a king bed, the second bedroom had a queen bed, and the third room had four single beds. Great layout with lots of room and privacy.

Best Things Nearby:There are a number

Best Things Nearby:There are a number of ski hills within an hour or two of the resort, including Killington and Jay Peaks. There also are many craft and antique stores in the area for non-skiers. Best Things About the Resort:There are lots of activities, ranging from acrylic painting and watercolors to downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobile tours and skating. There are also a number of restaurants, 2 supervised teen clubs (one for 13 - 15 and the other for 16+) with TVs, video games, pool tables, computers, etc and a bar with nightly entertainment (ranging from karaoke to a magician to an 11-musician jam session). There are fireworks on Thursday night.
The one downside to this resort is that there are no ski-discounts for exchangers. As such we did not restrict ourselves to only skiing here but also went to the surrounding ski resorts - all of whom had some gimmick or other. Smuggs (at $54/adult) is pricey when compared to ski-hills like Killington (about 2 hours away and $59/adult) which are many times bigger with much longer runs and more variety for all calibres of skiers. Overall I would rate this resort an 8.0.Resort Experience:We stayed in the Pines - a small, 4-unit building right beside the covered (in winter) pool and the outdoor skating rink - the location was great as we were right in the midst of the village and did not need to use the free shuttle bus to get around (as those staying hillside did)!
The master bedroom had a queen size bed with lots of closet space. The second bedroom was small with bunk beds and a large pull-our chair (made into a bed). There also was a pull-out sofa in the living room. The kitchen, though small, was very well equipped with dishes, appliances, etc. There was a wood fireplace in the living room.
There are no ski-discounts for exchangers at Smuggs; however, there are a number of other ski resorts closeby, all with various gimmicks.

Best Things Nearby:The scenery is about

Best Things Nearby:The scenery is about the best thing around. I don't meaan that's a bad thing, it's just that nice. We went during off season and found that there wasn't a lot to do at a ski resort when you couldn't ski. The Ben and Jerry tour was nice, but it's hard to tour an ice cream factory all day. The major cities in Vermont were by any other standard quite small. There are almost no restaurants or shoppong near the resort, and the resort limits all of its activities at certain times of the year.Best Things About the Resort:I would say that I was disappointed about our unit. The resort is rated a gold crown, but I would not classify what we were given in that caliber. Our unit was 15 - 20 years old and had never been refurbished. Everything seemed old and dated, but it did work. We took the time to tour some new two and three bedroom units on our own and found these units to be of higher quality and what I was expecting. I can say the unit was big.Resort Experience:A large resort that I would return to at a peak season either in the winter ski season or the summer. We happened to go right before ski season opened, and they were attempting to train the new staff, and I felt like I was in the way. We didn't get any housekeeping all week and the black things on the floor in the hallways turned out to be hundreds of dead flys.
The kids fun zone was closed when we were there, and so was the day care center as well as most of the restaurants. The skiing was not worth the price since I could see dirt coming through the snow at different places on the runs. The pool was almost too cold to even swim in.This must sound very negative, which our trip was, and we left a day early. I can see lots of potential in this resort, and that is why I would like to return, although it would have to be in a new unit at a time when the entire resort was running.

Best Things Nearby:Hiking, Ben &

Best Things Nearby:Hiking, Ben & Jerry's ice-cream factory, glassblowing stores, and horseback riding.Best Things About the Resort:The spaciousness and the extras, like a TV in each bedroom, a CD player in the living room, and a mud room when you first come in to leave your shoes and such. The location is just beautiful, with the wooded mountains and many swimming pools.Resort Experience:The accommodations were just beautiful. We were able to stay in a three-bedroom condo. Our condo had a heated outdoor pool attached so we could swim in the snow! The kitchen had everything you could imagine, from baking pans and a corkscrew to a blender for milkshakes. There were plenty of dishes and pans. The master bedroom had a shower and a whirlpool tub, which was clean and wonderful! We also had a CD player in the living room and a television in every bedroom. There was a convenience store on the resort property and a sports store in the main building, too. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful.
If you want to relax and unwind, this is the place to go. It was off-season, so many local businesses were closed, but we had a blast hiking and swimming in the pools.
Best Things Nearby:Not a lot of things

Best Things Nearby:Not a lot of things nearby. Enough going on at the resort to keep you busy.Best Things About the Resort:Rooms were very nice. TVs in the living room, both bedrooms, and even over looking the large jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. Gas fireplace and large kitchen. Washer and dryer in the second bathroom was a litle small.Resort Experience:Vermont is a very picturesque state if you have never been...it was beautiful. We stayed in the Willows 3 Bldg. As I mentioned above it was a ski in/out right on the side of the mountain which made it really nice. We were the only ones in the building and it was nice. Each unit had its own ski storage locker which made it nice not to have to keep that in your room. Would definetly go back!

Best Things Nearby:Hiking trails and country scenery, but we were reminded to wear some fluorescent orange as hunting season had just started. A trip to the local hardware store where we bought orange kerchiefs for $2, so we were not mistaken for wildlife.Best Things About the Resort:We stayed in the Sycamore and loved the unit, it was huge, and we could have easily slept eight, but of course we had left the family behind. The master bedroom had a king size bed and a bathroom right out of a spa, that had a whirlpool tub and heated ceramic floors. There was a TV in every room, even in the bathroom! The kitchen was well set up with everything you could need. The fireplace kept everything toasty warm when it started to snow. The window views were facing the mountains. There was nothing lacking in this timeshare.Resort Experience:We found it very relaxing and quiet as it was off season, but that was what we had gone there for, night life was not a requirement for us. My husband enjoyed using the swimming pool. This is truly an all season resort, one we would enjoy returning to for skiing in the winter.

Best Things Nearby:See the fall colors of scenic notch and the town of Stowe.Best Things About the Resort:The proximity to scenic beauty.Resort Experience:Our unit had rather dated decor and carpeting. The furnishings looked like they were from the 70s. Linen service was not available when and where it said it would be. Parking lots are not paved which can get a little messy if you care about your clothing/shoes and car interiors. The unit did not have sufficient lighting. The trash room was located indoors next to our room and was extremely smelly.

BurlingtonBest Things About the Resort:Nice accomodations. TVs, stereos, VCRs. Hot tub in the Master Bedroom with a TV. Best thing, though was the friendly and responsive staff.Resort Experience:Smuggs is a ski resort and a summer resort. They are very responsive and guest-friendly. Accomodations are excellent. Great organized activities for kids - and adults. Could use a little better night life scene, but they seem to be working on it.

All Review Photos This is a 45-50 feet catamaran yacht which has about six cabins that sleep two people each. It comes with a crew who takes care of the sailing, cooking, cleaning, and everything else to make your travel the most relaxing and luxurious. My husband and I had the most relaxing week of our life while on this boat! It was very comfortable and bigger than it appears in pictures, with ample storage space in your cabin for your clothes and other luggage. You also have your own private bathroom. Each day you sail for a few hours to another island, drop anchor, explore, and relax!
