It is a bit dated, but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay or a stay of a few days. Had some issues with first two rooms we were supposed to be in, but the staff was on top of things and moved us to an upgraded mini-suite that was fine. Overall, staff was pleasant, courteous, and helpful. Right before we hit the redwoods, we stayed at the Shilo Inn in Grants Pass. What a dump. Looks okay outside, but apparently the special treatment for AARP members is to put them in a crummy room next to the hotel laundry. Lousy mattress! Very '70s style! I consider it a great stay when I don't have to think about anything. Everything is where it's supposed to be and the room is always comfortable. The thing that stood out for me this time was that they now offer complimentary beverages and fruit throughout the day, not just as part of their continental breakfast. Being pretty cold this time of year, I was grateful to be able to get hot water to make my tea with any time I wanted it. The staff were extremely friendly and the snacks they offer are a real treat in the lobby! There's a great diner literally in the next parking lot over and it's just off the highway and very easy to find. It was quiete and the staff was great. They had the best prices in town, and was just as nice as the expensive ones. We spent a lot of our time in the pool. It was a very clean pool and area, and shielded from the wind. We're going back. The reservations were made way in advance. We were sent to Shilo Inn - Grants Pass and Rebecca help with getting rooms for all of us.
