Although it's age is showing in the public areas, the rooms do in fact seem more updated and fresh. The staff was extremely friendly. It's location in the middle the historic sights of Philadelphia, Penn's Landing, and South Street are certainly a plus as everything is within walking distance. The only "negatives" about the location though is that free parking in the area is extremely hard to find. The hotel provides only valet parking, and it's not cheap. The cobblestone roads that surround the hotel are a nightmare on any car suspension. Terrible room service, no late menu.“In February, we stayed at the Double Tree Hilton in Philly and loved it! This Sheraton did not meet up to my expectations at all! It was old and dingy. The tile, the floor, the pool area, even the bed was not nearly as comfortable as the Double Tree. Also, it was on the tail end of the city center! Not a good location for us at all. The room service menu they provide you is obsolete, as the room service attendant so rudely informed us. Why is it in the book then? Very displeased with this hotel! It's like a little oasis of calm amidst the bustle of downtown.
