Appalling ineptitude

pros: The room is attractive and cleanNever before have I been treated like this in a "Business Class" hotel. With the name "Sheraton" one expects some professionalism. Not in our experience - we came for business - - and found this place short on class.
We made a reservation a week prior to an expo at The Sheraton Bloomington in March '09. When we arrived (having failed to bring the confirmation number but who ever needs one?) we were told we didn't have a reservation. After being repeatedly asked if I could have spelled my name wrong (??!!) or if I might have used another name (??!!) we were given a room at the "group rate".
The room itself was adequate and clean - but there were no washcloths AT ALL; the bottled water was a $3.95 room charge; internet was extra; the paper was extra and the hair dryer on the wall didn't work. We received another hair dryer - but the wash cloths never did arrive.
Upon returning home I called the hotel with my confirmation number and the interesting fact that I paid five dollars more upon checkout than I was quoted at the time I made the reservation. Three times I was put on hold. Three times I spoke to different persons before being told they would call back. The moral of the story is they never did find my reservation OR confirmation number and the price originally quoted "was a mistake".
Actually - the mistake was in staying there at all. Beware!! If you are willing to risk it: take your confirmation number (though it might not help you) and be sure you know how to spell your own name. OR - - better yet just stay somewhere else!

Their website is misleading-

Their website is misleading- refrigerators do not come in the rooms; we had to rent one for $* and then it froze our baby's milk. The pool is freezing cold despite our request to have it warmed up. Bring your own pillow- theirs are so soft and mushy you'll have a sore neck. Our shower had black mold and the carpet and towels were stained. The AC unit turns on/ off throughout the night- not condusive to sleep. Leave your laptop home- they charge $10/ day for internet. No microwaves available, so leave the popcorn home too. We were very disappointed with the hotel.
