Hard Sell

The Sedona Summit Resort was a very nice spot with a nightmare check in process. We greatly enjoyed everything about the resort except the hard sell for the time share at the desk. The process took about 25 minutes and we felt that the staff was unwilling to take "no" for an answer when we declined the 90 minute presentation.

I tried to stay at Sedona Summit in

I tried to stay at Sedona Summit in July. I took this long for my review because I wanted to communicate what happened in a more businesslike manner. The walls and the adjoining door of the room were so thin - I wished my neighbor good health when they sneezed. The refrigerator and AC units kicking in, kept me awake all night. At 3 am, I walked to the office to ask if I could check out in the morning and not be charged for my second scheduled night. I knew my trip was ruined ? I just wanted to go home and sleep. The night clerk said that I could check out and not be charged. The next morning, the manager called me to find out what was wrong. After explaining about my sleepless night, I stated what the night clerk had said. She too said that I could check out without being charged.I spoke to this woman when I checked out, and she told me that I needed to call the online travel website to get my money back. I said that I would do so, and I thanked her for her help.I went home and slept most of the day ? I was exhausted from not sleeping the night before and having to drive home to Phoenix. It wasn?t until the next day that I called the online travel webite. They called Sedona Summit and were told that there would not be a refund. If they weren?t going to refund my money, they could have moved me to a quieter room. I sent a letter with a tracking number, to ask for help to get my money back. They didn?t reply to the letter I know they received. When considering staying in Sedona ? I would consider Sedona Summit my last resort.

Building was nice.Horrible customer

Building was nice.Horrible customer service.“No cell coverage for AT&T. Horrible customer service. Even our most basic questions were not answered and instead turned into some kind of sales pitch - and we're already owners! We checked in late after driving several hours and when we asked where we could find food/restaurants open the concierge lady went on and on with a sales pitch and how she was going to loose her job if we didn't sign up for the 90 minutes tour. Finally she directed us to a vending machine two buildings away. Run as fast as you can from this group. Once you're an owner it never stops, they keep calling us to buy more points and when you stay at a resort they pressure you to buy more. Stay at a Hilton instead.”

The Sedona Summit room we had was

The Sedona Summit room we had was outdated, provided few amenities, and NO housekeeping. No food/beverage services are available, not even within walking distance. The in room coffee maker is useless when coffee is not provided! Our "view" was of a pedestrian walkway - no vista view. Another couple we knew had a magnificent room with lots of space and amenities For the money there are several nicer, better located places in beautiful Sedona. This place is nice if you want some quietude in a Motel 6 type facility.

Roomy and comfortable.Poor customer

Roomy and comfortable.Poor customer service.“Roomy and comfortable, but tired. Room was not ready, although we arrived well after 4 PM. Housekeeping took three days to find our missing patio table, clock radio, etc. Concierge service was a sales desk. Info brochures were kept behind the desk. As we were there for a week, it was quickly apparent that the new fancy units were available despite what we were told at check in. Apparently, they use more than a few of them for weekend specials for people attending the never ending timeshare sales presentation. We won't return to the Summit, nor use the Diamond Resorts again.”

On the plus side, the room appears

On the plus side, the room appears nice, a condo feel to it, but be prepared to deal with lousy service.Upon checking in, they had lost my reservation and I'm sure if I didnt' have my confirmation letter in hand we would have been turned away ( they did so to someone in front of us). We ultimately got checked in and drove to our 'apartment' and then proceed to have to lug all our luggage up 3 flights of stairs ( no elevators). They woudn't make up the beds so we had to...3 very important words here.. NO FITTED SHEETS!!?? Every try sleeping on flat sheets tucked under a mattress that is only on a platform bed? THEY DON"T STAY. The maid's supposedly came once about 3 or 4 days into our 8 day stay and all they did was wash the bathroom sink. They took all of the towels out of the room and didn't leave us any. They didn't make any of the beds, though they did remove the sheets off of the pullout couch. We had to call and have them bring all new towels etc, and we had to remake the pullout bed ourselves. They are very concerned with trying to sell you time shares, and really that's what they are there for. All other attempts to get any kind of service or assistance whatsoever really were like pulling teeth. We got daily calls from the concierge to "make sure there weren't any tours they coudl help us with" which of course was followed up with an attempt to get us to sit through their time share sales pitch. There are better places to stay, but if you want to do all the work yourself and don't mind lousy service, try it out.

This was a very nice resort. Our (1 bedroom) condo had a full kitchen and a nice view of the red rocks. It had recenlty been remodeled, the living and bed rooms both had large flat panel tv's. The resort had several pools (one adult only) and at least one outdoor cooking area. We scheduled our activities through the concierge desk. The staff was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay at the resort and would stay there again!

The convenience to all the sightseeing

The convenience to all the sightseeing plans in Sedona that we had planned.Confusion about housekeeping procedures.“The hotel was a New Timeshare Condominium for Diamond International. The grounds were easy to get around on. I rented a 2 bedroom suite which turned out to be very generous in size for 4 people and another studio for another couple. The pools were very nice and a large spa which was wonderful. They had barbecues all around the complex with tables and utensils. The views of Sedona in a couple of the rooms were outstanding. Close to the downtown for activities and shopping and restaurants.”
