What a Scam

My wife and I along with another couple visited Sedona Pines Resort to learn about the time share opportunities. The Sales staff are huksters and this facility is nothing more than a modified KOA campground with cheesy overpriced trailers for rent.

My wife and I scheduled a week's

My wife and I scheduled a week's timeshare exchange at the Pines. We drove from San Diego, Ca to Sedona, Az. When we arrived in the evening, we were told that there was no reservation for that first evening!!!! IWe ended up having to drive up to Flagstaff!!!. Other than that mishap with the first night, we had a great time. The Pines is a beutiful place. They did pay for our night in Flagstaff and gave us a coupon for dinner so they did their best to redeem their mistake. Sedona is a place of enchantment.

This "resort" is made up of individual

This "resort" is made up of individual modular buildings that are cozy, but bright with the many floor to ceiling windows in the living room and clear story windows elsewhere. Though each unit is compact it is perfect for a couple and very efficient in total design. The Jacuzzi/bathtub/shower was too small for being used as a Jacuzzi unless you were 5'2" or less. There are plenty of amenities on site and the distance from the center of Sedona affords some country quiet, but good views. The staff were very accommodating. We found our unit very clean and the only glitch was a water problem where water from the Jacuzzi leaked into the kitchen area leaving a large puddle. The platform bed was very comfortable, though the bedroom was quite tight and we had to place one rollerboard suitcase on the floor of the closet. We are planning a return visit in late October.

This is a cheap trailer park!

I actually lived in a crummy trailer park when I was in college because it was all I could afford at the time, and never expected to stay in one again, so what a surprize Sedona Pines for my wife and I! The online reviews are obviously written by the staff! This so called "resort" claimed to have individual "cottages" on their own web site. However, Sedona Pines is nothing more than a trailer park with extremely small, cramped, cheap trailers (and I don't mean a live in trailer either- more like a compact, pull it with your Honda Civic trailer) with stucco on the outside. The whole cottage was about twice the size of our master bath at home, and we don't have an excessively large house-about 2000 sq ft. The whole "resort" has a trailer park feel to it as well. We had to leave the windows open of our "cottage" with the AC on full blast in 100 degree weather in late June because of the intense, irritating smell of the manufactured materials that are used to fabricate the trailers. It (adhesives and paraformaldehyde?) caused a burning sensation in our eyes. The "tile" in the bathroom is actually a man made material with a fiber board (or similar) backing. The furnishing are very tacky and apparently of cheap quality. I have stayed in budget hotels all over the US and the world over the years(including Mexico, Korea, and several parts of Europe) and this was the first time in 30 years that I was not asked how my stay was at check out. Of course they didn't ask because they already knew the answer. $150 is usually not a lot to pay for Sedona AZ, but in this case $50 would have been way too much. Sedona Pines again? No thanks.

All Review Photos Best Things Nearby:Pink Jeep Tours, Vortex's, HikingBest Things About the Resort:Quiet, peaceful, cleanResort Experience:I was really concerned being placed into this resort after all the reviews I've read about how small it was. We had two 2 bedroom units and one 1 bedroom unit for 13 of us. We had more than enough room. The "modular" type units weren't the biggest place I've stayed at but it was really, really nice, clean and peaceful. Plenty of closet space for luggage. The only downside was that the second bedroom is not attached to the main unit itself but it's across your patio which can be a pain if you have small children and I thought the points value was a lot for the size of the units itself compared to other resorts. Kids loved the pool, Jacuzzi in the bathrooms. The exercise room was small but nice.

Best Things Nearby:Sedona's beautiful red rock formations and closeness to the Grand Canyon.Best Things About the Resort:Privacy in the units; jacuzzi in the the bathroom was wonderful; HBO 1,2 and 3 on the two tv'sResort Experience:The units are nicely decorated, but a little small. I was alone, but had two brothers come to visit me. It was too small for the three of us. It would be OK for a couple in the bedroom and another person on the pull-out couch in the living room. The housekeeping staff is friendly and attentive. You are notified that housekeeping is only done one other time during the week, and that was nice. It would have been irritating for them to come everyday. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful. There was also a concierge on duty who could book trips and excursions. Each unit was suppose to have internet access, but this proved not to be sufficient. The main office did have a computer that guests could utilize. My cell phone had no service (T-Mobile) during the week. The resort is 10-miles out of Sedona, and a little secluded, but in a beautiful area. Tour companies would arrange pick-up from the guest facility if necessary, but I noticed that most people had their own transportation. A free breakfast was arranged the first part of the week, and reps of various tour companies were available to tell guests about their tours. I would recommend the Pink Jeep Tours, especially to the Grand Canyon it was wonderful; the lunch at the lodge, many views of the rim, a wonderful guide who was very informative, and amusing videos were provided in the van about the Grand Canyon. The tour was 11 or 12 hours, and was well worth it.
I simply love this place. The cottages are individual units so you have all the privacy, the surroundings are beautiful and there are a lot of fountains and stream within the property. The view from the cottages is excellent and there restaurant serves great food. The spa is another nice edition. The furniture is cool and the cottage is well stocked with all the amenities. Would go there again

This is a perfect place for a romantic

This is a perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway. The outside of the units is very well kept and man made streams run beside most of the units. Each unit is an individual resort. The livingroom and kitchen were attractive and well stocked . There are many activities for couples including a nice pool, hot tub, ping pong and mini golf. The only negative point is that it is about 5-6 miles to the sedona uptown and activities.

PROS: Individual units, well stocked kitchen
CONS: Away from the uptown

Best Things Nearby:Cottonwood is a cheaper place to purchase groceries and only 8 to 10 miles away. Sedona is just a couple of miles.Best Things About the Resort:The resort is in a remote area just outside of Sedona. It has its own restaurant, so when you first arrive, that's really convenient. Resort Experience:This resort is the most unique place we've ever stayed in through all of our travels all over the US, Hawaii, and Caribbean. Each unit is separate from the other. They are very compact, so expect a spacious place. The one-bedroom unit is perfect for honeymooners, because it's so private. The bath has a Jacuzzi tub. The two-bedroom is perfect for two couples, because one bedroom is in a connecting building and like a suite. There's a putt-putt course, hot tubs, pool, restaurant, and many activities right on-site. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Excellent Amenities: Excellent Unit Satisfaction: Excellent Family Friendliness: Excellent Service: Excellent
