I was booked through travel website, and when I arrived there was no room listed for me that day. My reservation at the Hotel said I should have been there in June. I had my comfirmation and it showed July. It took me about an hour to get it corrected and get a room. The floor that I stayed on had no working ice machines. There was no microwave nor small regrigator in the room. Parking was not available because of the hotel being a casino which interfered with customers finding a parking space.

It was inexpensive and my sleep was uninterrupted. It was dirty with long lines at the front desk. The Sahara is a run down old hotel, very reminiscent of its star attraction. I didn't like the filthy carpets, the long lines waiting to check in (every day), the unavailability of a coffee machine or reasonably priced coffee, the broken/obsolete fitness equipment in the workout room or the $6-/day. I liked that it has its own stop on the Monorail line. It has a rather nice pool. The workout room has a gorgeous view (if horrible equipment) and it was inexpensive.

Comfortable room without the huge

Comfortable room without the huge expense that Strip locales are becoming. Quick and easy access to North/South Strip Cat/RTC/Duece Bus ($* all day pasess) system as well as a stop right at the Hotel for the Strip Monorail ($* all day passes). Fantastic food choices at the Buffet (especially for the value) for only $*(with Sahara Club Card, free membership, of course). Fantastically located with shor distance to all Strip locations (except Strat) just to the South and Downtown also just a short location out the doors to the right (pass the Strat and down to Freemont).Good selection of various denomination and types of Slots (wish I would''ve come across the "Dean Martin Wild Party" machines before my last day), reasonable Minimum bet table games, Keno, Poker tournaments, etc.... everything you'd expect to find... or go out and relax by the Pool... Go visit all the other Casinos and see how they have everything over-priced and come back to enjoy the nice folks (guests and workers) at the Sahara...See the "Big" Shows elsewhere (Roseann was not very funny, and IMO not worth ANY price [other than comp]) but enjoy the band at night at the Casbar while playing some nearby penny/nickel slots or relax at a Table...I planned on using the Sahara (for its value) as a good locale to begin/end each day of my stay and to wander to the other Casinos for whatever other action (and I did visit some for sights and sounds) but found I did land up spending most my time there... Convenient, clean, good people, and fun...The Sahara will be my location of choice for my next Vegas trip... If you want to waste money, go ahead and stay elsewhere...

Pool and casino staff was excellent

Pool and casino staff was excellent.Long wait at check in, they had no more than 3 people working the check in counter any day I was there. If you just need a bed to sleep in, Sahara is the place to go. Obviously its one of the oldest casino hotels in Vegas and it shows. That being said the staff was friendly but the long wait at check in was a killer. It was probably 45 minutes to 1 hour line.

For as cheap as it is to stay here it is totally worth it. I stayed here with some of my girl friends for my bachelorette party, so we did't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel stay, would rather spend it on "activities". This hotel was renovated not too long ago and is great. The pool is awesome, the rooms are comfortable, and overall I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is going to Vegas to party and just needs a bed to sleep in.The hotel is at the very end of the strip so be prepared to take some sort of transportation to any of the hotels. The food was decent, don't eat at the speedway cafe. That was the only bad place there. The staff is great too, they take care of you.

Nice room, lots of features.Check in was absolutely the worst ever. The hotel is nice, as you would expect but the check in was horrid. 2 or 3 people checking in and out literally hundreds of people. Check in process was 60 to 90 minutes of waiting in line for all guests the entire time every day.

For the money you pay it's okay. Being one of the oldest hotel's it certainly does smell that way. The hallways and corriders reak! The staff however was excellent and very nice. There is always a line of at least 20-30 people at the front desk waiting to check in or out, probably because they have openings for 12 clerks but only ever had 3 working. The pool was very nice. The best feature would have to be the casino, they always have $5 tables...all day. I would definitly visit the casino. If they updated the rooms and maybe cleaned the carpet I would stay again.

The only problem we had was the room

The only problem we had was the room was very hot. When I complained about the temperature of the room, they said that was not the first complaint and the rooms on that end were always hot. Why? if they knew that were we ever assigned rooms like that? They moved us to another room in the middle of the night the first night. The location is fabulous for driving on the Strip--somewhat away from the big, fancy hotels that we could drive from the parking lot and leave and enter very easily. I would definitely stay in again. This was our 2nd stay in the Sahara. The buffet was very good and the staff was friendly.
