It's a great place to stay

Over the last 5 years my family and myself stayed at the saddleback inn. Everyone was nice, the rooms were cosy, great spa tub and fireplace. Easy to walk to village only a min away. Coffee always in lobby. The prices are great. Love to play on my little front porch of upscale cabin with kids or when alone read a book and snack. Ask for a cottage in quiet location. A few are near parking but that never bothered me. When i was there it was usually in between all the things to do in lake arrowhead. At night after a spa tub bath with fireplace on i crashed and fell asleep. Morning found me in lobby for danish and coffee then out for more adventures. They have brought more beds for kids, more pillows and blankets. There was an occasion my grandkids had a cracker fight in the living room. We left a little bit bigger tip but we were welcomed again when we visited.

Overall, the hotel room I stayed in was not bad. I stayed in the Saddleback Inn in Norwalk, California. My biggest problem with the hotel was that my keycard for the door to my room needed to be demagnetized every single day. Every time I left my room and then tried to use my keycard to get back in it would not work and I would have to go back to the front desk to have it demagnetized. This was a major hassle. Other than that, my only complaint was about the staff's knowledge of area restaurants. I asked the clerk at the front desk for some good fine dining places in the area and I was directed to Outback Steakhouse. It was not exactly my version of good eating.

We paid to leave!

I saw beautiful pictures on their website and decided to book a two night romantic getaway. Our "cottage" overlooked a dirty parking lot with noisy construction activity. There were bags of garbage sitting at the foot of the stairs leading to our room. The cottage was small, dark, cold, and uninviting. When I complained to the staff, I was informed we could cancel and forfeit deposit. We decided a $240.00 loss was better than spending the night here. Beware!

The rooms are charming! It is great to come back after a day of snow play and warm up by the fireplace in the room. The restaurant was phenomenal!!

We Loved It!

My wife and I stayed at the Saddleback Inn at Lake Arrowhead from 6/30/06 to 7/02/06 for our wedding anniversary. Our stay was superb! Karen and company answered questions and emails and provided information we needed. On arrival we noticed parking was ample and a 7-11 and a Burger King were nearby. At check-in we were provided with instructions and a map in addition to a free coupon for 50% off for one weekday night on our next visit. Arrowhead Village is just down the street. Our room was clean and comfortable with a king bed, gas fireplace (on a timer for safety), color TV, mini-fridge and a double jetted spa tub in the bathroom. As it was our anniversary, the very attentive staff provided my wife and I with a complimentary bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider (on ice) with two fluted wine glasses along with a thoughtful staff-signed anniversary card. The Inn has a country-mountain-western theme throughout with many interesting decorations to view. We could see Lake Arrowhead from a window in our room. Next to the front desk is a small bar which leads you into the Inland Empire's leading restaurant "The Raven's Nest"; where meals are prepared just for you and are delicious. The staff is very attentive and courteous. Reservations are recommended and the front desk staff will assist with those. An added bonus provides free coffee, tea and pre-packaged danish in the morning for the guests. In addition to rooms at the Inn, various cabins sized for couples and families are available and provide more privacy for those who desire it. All-in-all a wonderful stay and we look forward to going back.

cozy and romantic

We stayed for our anniversary. I checked into cabins, hotels and private homes but I am glad we chose here. We had rock fireplace in our room, a bathroom with a jacuzzi and a little refrigerator for some champagne. We ate there and wrote a review on that as well. It was like our own little place and it was alot less than renting a private home. We are considering even moving up here we love it so much!!

Wonderful!

My wife and I made a very spontaneous decision to stay overnight. But on a moments notice, we were fortunate enough to find a vacancy at this quaint and gorgeous Inn. They were very friendly and welcoming. Once we located our cottage, we were just enchanted with it's beauty, warmth and character. It was roomy yet comfortable. Very clean and cozy. We almost felt as though we were staying at someone's home. We can't wait to go back again.

Crying kids are welcomed at this Nest

The Nest is a 4 star restaurant nestled in the romantic Saddleback Inn, Lake Arrowhead, CA. After waiting 20 minutes past our scheduled reservation, we were seated at a quiet booth that was available the entire time. Soon a family of 4 with a tired 2 year old crying to go home was seated behind us. After 10 minutes of non-stop crying, we spoke with a waitress about the disturbance caused by the child. The owner refused to speak to the family and we were to be moved to a louder part of the restaurant if we didn’t like the noise. Since the romance for the evening was ruined, we decided to move. I was too upset to accept any compensation, but still shocked that they even charged me a $10 corkage fee on my bottle of wine. The food and service is worthy of 5 stars, but owner is a horrible manager and will sacrifice your romantic evening at the expense of a crying child. BE WARNED!
