I will not stay in a pet friendly hotel again. The first room my spouse and I were given smelled of cat pee. When we complained, we were given a second room. It smelled faintly of dog, but was bearable. The room was small and spartan, but sufficed for the single night that we stayed. The free breakfast was simple, but did include eggs, which could be heated in a microwave. When you walked into the room, you had to walk sideways to get between the tv stand and the bed. Nice TV, bad reception - the bathroom was very clean. They had a swimming pool, but it was backfilled with dirt, so they had no amenities. This is even though we talked with the front office twice before we checked in and that we had stayed at the motel for three days. When we questioned the person that seemed to be in charge he told us to stay in our room for an hour. When my husband's expensive sandals were covered with a tar-like substance to clean them with mayo--funny thing we do not travel with mayo. We are keeping a towel at the bottom of the room door trying to keep the fumes out to avoid a serious headache. We are stuck here because we are traveling with our dog and it is too late in the day to find other facilities. When I called Rodeway Inn Corporate I was told there is nothing they can do--that these are owned independently. When I called Choice Hotels they told me they just sell the name--there is nothing they can or will do. Take my advice--do not stay at the Rodeway Inn in Ithaca, NY. Spend the extra money.
