Rime Garden Inn & Suites was the host hotel and the stay was spectacular! The suites were nice and spacious with a full kitchen and balcony. The rooms were clean and neat and the staff members provided very prompt and friendly service. Rime Gardens also provides delicious, complimentary HOT breakfast for their hotel guests and not a cold continental breakfast. This hotel has a nice pool and also wireless internet service. I have attended and hosted several functions at Rime Gardens, but this was the first time I actually stayed at the hotel as a guest. I enjoyed my stay so much that I stayed over an extra day. This is all I can say. This is a new hotel and it shows as this is no Comfort Suites that I have ever seen. HUGE suites with a seperate living room. I loved the huge 42 inch tvs in each room, but my favorite was the showerhead. Ate at the Texas Roadhouse one night, and it was just across the street. Simple to get to, what a change from the rest of Richmond. Location was good as well. I had a meeting downtown and got there in 15 minutes. There were lights that came on and off by themselves and some that flickered. The smoke detector was hanging from a wire. The furniture was worn & dirty and the room had an unpleasant "old smoke" smell (in a "non-smoking" room). The TV remote control did not work. The hotel lobby belied the rooms. At first glance, it looked quite nice, but a closer look showed it to be dirty, too. The daily breakfast buffet was nicely served and the utensils, plates and table clothes were clean, but the food was mediocre - powdered eggs and bad coffee among the problems. Do not stay here. Rooms were disgusting, dirty (stained carpet and furniture). Room service never cleaned the room during 4 day stay (and I mean did not clean anything!)--although they did make the beds 2 out of the 4 days I was there. No screens on windows, mold on ceiling in bathroom, plumbing in bathroom was in disrepair. This place is no longer a Best Western like it says on other web sites. The place should be closed down! I arrived an hour after check in and was told that my room was not ready. I was told that it could take up to an hour for it to be ready. The lobby smelled of mold and was full with waiting people.
