One word - AMAZING!

I was absolutely impressed from the minute we pulled up there was nothing more the staff could do for us. The staff was very helpful and every time we saw a member, they would ask if we needed anything. The bed was by far the most comfortable I had ever slept in away from home. It made it really hard to get out of bed in the morning for the short walk to local shopping and dining. We parked the car and did not move it until we left because everything was so close.

Everything was so great! I work for United Airlines, and Marriott gave me a great employee discount! Since we all travel so much, we spread the word, where we are treated the best! We have a saying...we live champagne lives on beer prices!! This was definately the champagne life!
Thank you Marriott...I love CHS, and will be back at the Renaissance!

Having stayed here before, and loving it I had no issues rebooking. However I was sorely disappointed. The hotel was under construction, my room reeked of smoke and bacon from uncleaned filters (the hotels explanation not mine), the fire alam went off and this was all before 9 AM. The staff while cordial was basically disinterested in the problems presented. With so many lovely hotels in Charleston the Renaissance will no longer get my business.

A wonderful, short stay. A beautiful hotel with a friendly staff. The "joggling board" out front was fun to sit on. Cozy fireplace in the lounge area. Bedding was fabulous.

Great Stay

When we visited Charleston, the Renaissance was perfect. It was conveniently located about a block away from King Street which has all the shopping and restaraunts. It was also generally close to just about everything else so we only used a car to get to the airport. It had a wonderful view over the city and we could even just barely make out the outline of the big cargo boats as they came and left. The room and hotel were very clean and the beds were especially comfortable. The staff was also very nice. We plan to stay at the Renaissance for all our future visits to Charleston.

Terrific Hotel!

The hotel is just a short walk from the market shopping area. When I write short, I mean about 2 normal city blocks. The hotel has parking in a garage across the street for $10 per day. The parking was convenient. The hotel's rooms are relatively small, but furnished very well. The bed was one of the best I've ever slept in. No complaints about the room at all. There is a nice gym on the third floor as well as an outdoor pool on the third floor roof. The hotel has six floors and we were on the sixth floor. The view from the hotel's six floor was not terrific as there are other buildings almost the same height in all directions. The hotel is 1/2 block away from King Street which is a very popular shopping area as well. They have a Starbucks on the first floor. The restaurant, Wentworth, did not look upper end. We did not eat there so I can't comment on the food. My wife and I love Charleston and this location was very convenient to everything. We'll stay at the Renaissance again.
