My biggest problem with this hotel is that it did not meet my expectations. The rooms were basically clean. The hotel staff greeted us with "oh, we were going to mark you down as no show". This was after we had called them & let them know we were going to be late; and without a "welcome to Red Lion" or a hello. I tried to eat breakfast at the hotel's restaurant & the service was so bad that I walked across the street to another restaurant. Also, the location is terrible! Definitely away from anything that is going on in Eureka! There's a restored historic district and a restored waterfront, but the hotel is too far away to enjoy them and any other attractions. The hotel needs some landscaping or something to hide the fact that it's next to a trailer park and run down area in general. The Eureka Red Lion is by far the best one. And the beds were quite comfortable.Need more choices on the television. The staff was friendly, the room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. It was a pleasure to stay there and we hope to stay there again in the not too distant future. Because this hotel is pet friendly and the staff nice enough and met my needs for a 3 day stay I will return to this hotel. But... I felt that I was put in a room in the basement. I was next to the work out gym and all the other room on my side of the floor were storage rooms.
