I decided to stay here because I was visiting the Mayo Clinic and I heard good things about the place. My expirience here was decent. The staff was very helpful with helping me find my way around town and the rooms were comparably clean. I've stayed at pricier hotels that weren't half as clean as this place. I think we paid a fair price for the rooms. We paid $45.00 for one queen size bed. There were no irons or hair dryers in our rooms but we only came to Rochester to visit the clinic. We did not want to pay $80- $90 for a hotel room just for the extra conviniences. Red Carpet has the friendliest staff of all the hotels we have stayed at. We stayed at an "upgrade 4 star hotel and were promptly robbed of several diamond rings. Red Carpet staff is honest and trustworthy. It fit the need. The place is somewhat dated, the carpets could stand a thorough scrubbing, and it had less-than-fresh scent. Room had a fridge and a small microwave. The beds were very comfortable. The pool was good. The problem someone else had mentioned about the skids in the tub have been fixed. It was what we look for in a hotel, clean and friendly. The staff was very patient at breakfast with my 3 children. Yes, it is an older hotel. The tv had a knob, but it worked and the cable worked just fine.
