Great Motel

I really liked staying at the Red Carpet Inn this past fall. I was there for one week for IV therapy at the Mayo Clinic. Even though some construction was going on, it didn't matter. The staff is polite and always available. My room was very big and comfortable. Thanks Red Carpet Inn!

There was feces on the wall in the bathroom and just a general gross factor to the whole place. The pool was very cold and it was dark and not easy to get to. The staff was rude and not helpful. The outside looks like it does on the inside worn out and beat up.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

I stayed at the Red Carpet Inn in Rochester MN in May of 2008. I decided to stay here because I was visiting the Mayo Clinic and I heard good things about the place. My expirience here was decent. The staff was very helpful with helping me find my way around town and the rooms were comparably clean. I've stayed at pricier hotels that weren't half as clean as this place. I think we paid a fair price for the rooms. We paid $45.00 for one queen size bed. There were no irons or hair dryers in our rooms but we only came to Rochester to visit the clinic. We did not want to pay $80- $90 for a hotel room just for the extra conviniences. I feel we got what we were paying for.

Best value in Rochester

We have been coming to Mayo Clinic since 1983. Red Carpet has the friendliest staff of all the hotels we have stayed at. We stayed at an "upgrade 4 star hotel and were promptly robbed of several diamond rings. Red Carpet staff is honest and trustworthy. It is showing it's age but it is our choice for staying in Rochester.

Very disappointed with this place. The halls were dirty. The rooms were not the cleanest. The place is very run down. Would not stay there again.

Comforters and sheets have holes in. Very basic room with few amenities. Pool is small and inconvenient to get to. Continental breakfast consists of a doughnut if you're early enough to get there so that there's some left. Pillows are doubled because they're so flat. Then you get a neck ache.

Met our needs

We sought an inexpensive place for a stopover on our way to the Twin Cities. It fit the need. The place is somewhat dated, the carpets could stand a thorough scrubbing, and it had less-than-fresh scent. Room had a fridge and a small microwave. However, for $50 (Travelocity), we had no complaints.

We will go back

The service was good. The beds were very comfortable. The pool was good. The problem someone else had mentioned about the skids in the tub have been fixed. It was what we look for in a hotel, clean and friendly. The staff was very patient at breakfast with my 3 children. Yes, it is an older hotel. The tv had a knob, but it worked and the cable worked just fine.
We stayed for 4 nights and we will stay again next time we go to Rochester.

when we stay in Rochester, this is where we will be

We have stayed at several places in Rochester, over the years, and they all had too hard of beds for me.This inn,had a nice firm bed,but not so firm that I couldn't sleep.(which is the usual)This place, isn't for the people who are used to fancy. My wife and I,enjoyed our stay. The staff was freindly, and very helpful. If I had to find something wrong,it would be that the shower, did not have things in the tub,to keep you from slipping. After almost, ten years of going to the Mayo clinic,we have found the place where we will be staying.
