This motel is a good bargain. Clean,

This motel is a good bargain. Clean, courteous, close to airport, parking for $20 while taking your flight, good shuttle even at 3:40 a.m. Sometimes difficult to find especially at night. Will stay again. You may need a map, available at front office, to find your room.

Pleasant Surprise!

With the way the economy is going, it's nice to know that there are still affordable, clean, hotels out there that cater to the weary traveler. I stayed at the Ramada Portland after calling around to a few of the hotels in the area and resolved to stay there because it was much more affordable than other hotels even next door!
The hotel is a big complex but the front desk staff was wonderful in making sure that I found my room and even called after to see if I needed anything.
When I got to my room..( I upgraded to a mini-suite..which I highly suggest...) it was very clean and comfortable. The heater had already been turned on so it wasn't cold when I walked in. The bed was alittle on the soft side for me but I still got a great night's sleep.
Maybe I came in at the right time, but the restaurant food was fast, hot and really good...I appreciated the Sports Bar playing not only Sports but movies as well =)
I took the shuttle back to the Airport and flew out to finish my business trip. I hope I have the same luck at the next hotel I stay at! I recommend this hotel to anyone with a budget but wont budge on quality!

The glowing comments about this place

The glowing comments about this place made it seem almost too good to be true. I booked anyway and, for the price, it's absolutely a terrific value. My room had been upgraded to a mini suite, on the house; the bar had happy hour prices and a very congenial bartender. Would definitely book there again.

Can't beat the value anywhere near the airport

Being an avid traveler, I was a little concerned at the pricing of the Ramada PDX even with the economy the way it is. But to my suprise, the room was excellent at a price of $59.00. Compared to other hotels that go for $50 more, this room had everything and more. One thing that stood out was the triple sheet bedding, much cleaner than those bedspreads I'm used to that never get washed. You normally only see this type of bedding at modern/fancier hotels.

Overall my stay was great, good staff, good service, good food and an excellent room. Can't think of staying anywhere else when I return to Portland!

Awful.

With the sole exception of the last room available in a little town bargain motel (where you don't expect much) we landed at in a blizzard, this is the worst place I have ever been. First told my preferred room was not available, second sent to a dirty room, third sent to the room type I originally asked for, which was half clean in the bathroom (of all places). Oh, just a little tip, if you really must open your door, insert the key until you get the green light, pull the door back towards you, twist the handle as far as you can, yank it down one more notch till it clicks, then it will open.

Trash lined the hallways until at least 4pm, and it SMELLED. Disgusting.

Thinking we only have to get through this until about 3am to catch a flight, discovering that I have to haul 6 bags and a toddler back down to the lobby and a discount, let alone a refund, would not be forthcoming, we thought we'd hang tough.

Dinner. Lovely glob of something green on the glass delivering my child's milk. New milk arrives with a salad. Spoiled. Seriously wilted, rotten, brown salad and cucumbers. Compliments on putting it on the bottom, very creative. I also appreciate them accepting payment for the one consumable drink that was served. Gasp! Make sure she pays for the coffee.

Front desk, again, very helpful. The "ohhhhh...." from the little gal behind the counter after hearing of my dinner really eased the pain. Guess that's all she could come up with.

Did I mention that the tub faucet started leaking sometime during dinner? That was the cherry on my sundae.

The jacuzzi is broken down. As is at least one of the common area bathrooms. The wi-fi signal is poor. If you aren't pretty tall, you have to stand on the bed to adjust the heat or air, as the controls are over 6 feet off the ground.

I don't know what happened since the last reviewer stayed here, but this is nasty. Top to bottom, nasty.

Will I be returning? Hmmmm..... No.

We will never go back to a Ramada Inn

We were in the jacuzzi suite. There was no comforter or bedspread, just sheets and 1 thin blanket. My husband stepped on a nail that was in the carpet, the couch was missing part of the cushion so it sunk way in. The light figure had a screw where the knob should have been. Then when my husband turned on the jets to the jacuzzi, the water sprayed in all directions on the wall. We adjusted the jets and it did the same thing by spraying everywhere except in the water. We used all the towels to clean it up. This place needs updated and it should have been a safety hazzard. The food in the restaurant (Lea`s Landing) was absolutely awful. Had the chichen cordon bleu and it was a flat piece of chichen with a piece of ham and some kind of sauce on top. Wasnt fit to eat. We ended up waiting to stand in line when we got there to check in and when we checked out since there is only 1 person behind the counter who was on the phone the whole time. When we complained about what happened in our room, the person behind the counter could care less. We paid $159.00 for the worst place we ever stayed at.

Quite & convenient for our specific stay. The motel is very old and requires some needed repairs & upgrades. The hotel staff was very supportive and went the extra mile to ensure our 50th year reunion was a great success.

I came to the Ramada for a business

I came to the Ramada for a business meeting and was quite surprised! I had stayed a few years before and found that this once ugly duckling hotel has blossomed into a swan! The waterfall at the entrance was very beautiful and the lobby's warm reception was very nice.
The room was very comfortable and clean.Tthe staff at the front desk was courteous and helpful with all of my questions about the area. The restaurant food was awesome! I came for business but I saw kids in the pool so I know that the hotel accommodates all kinds of travelers. I definately recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a great stay for less.

Excellent customer service!

pros: Excellent staff, beautiful reception, very comfortable beds. This particular Ramada was purchased a year ago after the previous owners almost lost the Ramada name. Since then, they have updated many of the rooms.

I went to them when I was looking at rooms for my wedding for out of town guests. Not only did James give me a tour of the hotel on short notice, but he gave us a fantastic rate as well! On top of that, I called him today to change the number of rooms we needed. He was very gracious and even extended the time our guests have to book a room in our block.

James is just one example of the excellent service provided by the staff at the Ramada. I will write more after we stay there. However, if this is how I am treated before I stay there, I can imagine how much better it will be when we check in!
