What a sleazy dump. Great if you care to trash it up while in town.

A disaster

They were charging $79 a night for this dump just because it was the tail end of the Gem and Mineral Show. I was one of only two or three guests in the motel that weekend, so it's not like demand was very high. NOTHING was as promised. When I called for reservations I was told that the rooms were being renovated and that when I arrived rooms would have wireless internet, cable TV and mini-refrigerators. The night I arrived I was placed in a room in which the TV didn't even have a cable input, and picked up no stations. There was NO PHONE so I couldn't even call the desk to ask about it. I had to walk twice in the rain to the office to complain and the desk girl gave me a new room. In this room the heater barely spit out warm air and it was a very cool weekend. The hot water did not work in the shower and when I called the desk three times no one answered.

This place sure isn't worth $80 a night, Gem Show or not. I wouldn't even pay $40 for what I got.

Don't bother with this motel

I will simply state that of all the hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in, this is without a doubt the worst I have ever experienced. The motel staff was the coup de gras.

They were very unprofessional, and downright rude, as I overheard swearing and cursing. There were light bulbs missing, the toilet was plugged, there were unsavory characters lurking throughout the parking area, and what appeared to be prostitutes pounding on random guest’s doors all night long, also suspicious drug activity.

This is a very dilapidated section of the city. Take your vacation here at your own risk, or simply don't bother.

This is an older hotel that is getting run down and showing it. The toilet plugged; some lights wouldn't work. But the people in charge were the straw that broke the camels back. Very unprofessional; cursing; talking about various guests disparagingly; just no couth whatsoever. I heard someone mention it's for sale, so maybe there will be improvement.

We've stayed there several times

The Flamingo Hotel is a perfect place to stay, especially if you are visiting the Wildcat House Dance Club until the late night hours. It is within walking distance to the Club and the rooms are not bad considering the inexpensive internet rates. And the staff was very helpful and friendly. I think the problem one of the other reviewers had is THEY thought they should be staying in a Five Star hotel for a One Star price and labeling the area as undesirable is a very objective label based upon the environment that the user is desiring.
