Good for the Money

For the money this is a good hotel. It is not fancy, but comfortable with small rooms. Decor needs to be updated. Many a wife will not be impressed, per mine and the wife of the gentlemen I went up in the elevator with the next day. Security is very good however and it did not cost extra for my rent car. The A/C is a unit in the window which is placed behind the curtain, which means the curtain stays open in order for you to get air. Everyone is friendly with the exception of unimpressed wives.

If the hotel was charging $50 instead of $80 it might have been ok. Several things didn't work well in the room, including the toilet. The heater/AC was behind the curtains and couldn't get the room to cool down. Staff was nice, hotel was not wel

Very Poor

I had the unfortunate experience to stay in this hotel for one day last week. I had originally planned to stay for four, but had to leave after one night. As one of the previous reviewers noted, the place looks and smells old. For example, the carpet in my room had several large stains, the sink in the bathroom was cracked, the lamp beside the bed had a broken switch and the windows were locked, so you couldn't get any relief from the musty smell in the room. In addition, the night clerk was rather surly, and the number of people hanging around the late night liquor store located beside the hotel entrance didn't encourage you to go out at night. There are many nice hotels in the airport area - avoid this one like the plague.

Staff was good and the price was good.

Staff was good and the price was good. You get what you pay for with this motel. The motel is old and in an older part of town. If you are just looking for a cheap place to stay then this is your place. 10 minutes to the airport and about 15 to 20 minutes to get downtown. If you have kids this isn't the place for you. No pool and no activities within walking distance not that you would want to be walking around outside with your kids.
To sum it up if alls your looking for is a cheap place to stay and don't care about any of the extra's this place is for you. If you enjoy a new motel, a good location and have kids this place isn't for you.

staff was great helped me with all the information i needed and the rooms we clean and it looks like they have made a lot of changes to the hotel it is looking a lot better that before. I would recommend this hotel as it offer a hotel and cruise shuttle and the rate is awesome for what you get.

Avoid this place like it has the plague!!

"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
-The staff was friendly and courteous, that's about the only good thing to say. They did not have a lot to work with. I felt sorry for them.
-the rooms were clean, but worn
-Everything else was awful
-Don't be fooled by the list of amenities and attractions (some that did not acutally exist as advertised: Pools? no. Casino? no. Bowling alley? no.) and misleading pictures
-Good as a truck stop....but overpriced for even that
-If I was travelling with my family (I was - and booked two rooms for two nights) and wanted to enjoy the visit to Vancouver, I would be and was very upset and disappointed.
-Dark, dank, smelly, worn, awful
-EVERYBODY I met in the hotel remarked how bad it was and the comments were not solicited, but volunteered!! I never had that experience at anyplace before. Usually somebody is unhappy with anything. Here, EVERYBODY was unhappy, and commented on how bad it was!!
-the elevator conversation was all the same...disgust with the place.
-I can't believe anyone who viewed the banquet facilities first would book any function there!! The atmosphere was just BAD..OK for a low class batchelor party I suppose!
-BAD "continental breakfast" consisted of a stale overly sugared roll and OK coffee.
-They will be booked for the 2010 Olympics...and their guests be very, very, very, disappointed and upset.
-I feel bad having to give such a poor review...I have never had such a poor experience.
-Quality Inn (Choice Hotels) should sell this dump...it would make a good half way house for parolees...that's about it.

Decent for a night stay - nothing longer

I stayed here for a night, waiting for my flight the next morning. Normally, I have had good experiences with Quality Inn, however, this specific location was not the greatest. From the outside, the hotel looks great. However, once you go insde, you realize that it does have an "old" feel to it which certainly is not pleasant. From the time you get off the elevator and head to your room, you know that this is not a place you want to stay for very long.

Like my headline says, if you are looking for a 1 night stay and arn't looking to spend a fortune, this place will serve fine. Nonetheless, if you have an extended visit planned, look elsewhere.

Not a place that I will return

I had great experience with other Quality Inn but with this particular one it is not a good feeling even at the start of checking in. Everything is old and tired. Access to enclosed garage is safe but it gives you a feeling of insecurity. From garage to the elevator is dark and damp going through a few doors, steps and no easy access ramp for an old lady to pull her luggage to the elevator. In the bathroom the paint and/or wall paper is peeling. The sink is cracked and show aged. I was glad that I only stay there a few hour before heading to the airport the next morning on an early flight. That is the only plus to this experience is the hotel is a straight shot easy access to Vancouver International airport,

Patio Door not working!

Stayed there for one night ( thnk God! it's only a night)...The patio door in our room wont close, so we have to deal with the noise outside all night! terrible place to stay..the room was cold all night!..wont stay there again! Charged us for 89 dollars /night could have gotten a better room at a cheaper price with Ramada Metrotown...
