They must have recently renovated because the place looks great on the inside. The room was extremely comfortable for a family of four and very clean. The beds were nice and so was the view from a beach view room. The IHOP downstairs is very convienent but can be crowded and slow at the rush times...morning. The beach in front of the hotel is not stellar, but it was great for sand castle building and shelling. We were there during Spring Break which made the tiki bar a bit loud and crowded at night, but other than that, it was fairly peaceful. I will stay there again next time I visit Clearwater. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. You can get a slight view of the Gulf from the beach side. The bad thing about the hotel is that they allow boats to come up and anchor off the beach to use the pool and the bar. Both get very crowded because of this, which I don't think is fair because we were paying customers and we could not really use the pool or the bar because we don't like crowds. Also, there is a lot of noise at night. We were there 7 nights and 2 or 3 of those were sleepless because of all the noise outside going on until midnight or 1 AM. This is really bad when you have to be up early to attend business meetings. One morning I went out on the balcony at 6 AM and there were 2 guys skinny dipping in the pool! On the plus side, the rooms were recently renovated and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There is an IHOP attached to the hotel, but the food is not great. The private beach and the pool were very sweet and the best part of the stay. We got lock out on the balcony because the doors were so old and when we finally got help the maintenance man said nothing and looked upset that he even had to help. When I went to check out and explain my concerns. Great view from balcony highly recommend water view room. We will be going back again in May and look foward to our trip each year. Hotel is close to everything you'll need in Clearwater Beach.
