I just got back from Cabo and after

I just got back from Cabo and after six trips have found the right resort/hotel for me. Playa Grande has the beach, ocean, crashing waves, location (walk to downtown or take shuttle) and luxurious accommodations for a good price ($970/week). My wife enjoyed the Spa, I enjoyed the scenery (six girls playing sand vollyball) and I liked getting a massage by one of the five pools. A quick walk to downtown to WaboCabo and the Giggling Marlin and I was in heaven. Great accommodations and fantastic ocean location (tip of Baja and next to lovers beach and the arch) Rocky mountains next to us, crashing surf and luxurious unit.
I had a one bedroom condo with a kitchen. It was, overall, a good experience. It was a pleasant facility and they had attentive help. It was somewhat a long but easy walk to the center of the town. It was close to marina activities. They had limited parking at the hotel, but it was never completely full. They had a very nice beach. It had a smaller pool complex than some local resorts, but larger than others. The pools were well maintained. As with everywhere in Mexico, it seems to be a more or less constant state of construction. Teaser gifts or goodies for timeshare presentation were less than most others. The kitchen was functional but limited. It had very cheap pans and utensils. There was a countertop microwave, but no oven. There was also no dishwasher, though the maids did dishes. No outdoor grill was available. They had a good deal on drinks during the happy hour. My advice is to get out of town for a bit more Mexican experience. We enjoyed our day trip to Todos Santos. The souvenirs and the crafts are cheaper than in Cabo. We followed the locals to a sidewalk taco stand for lunch. They had good, cheap local food.

An awesome stay

This resort was state of the art and fun for the whole family. The rooms were great and ours had a King Size bed and the kids slept on the sleeper in the "Living Room". It was nice to have seperate rooms. Full kitchen was nice so we did not have to eat out at each meal. Great views of the Pacific and the beaches on this side of the bay are much less crowded. Less venders trying to sell you stuff also. The pools were great and clean and the kids had the best time. You can even have your own private showing at their indoor theater. The did not forget about anything at this resort. Short walking distance to downtown and CaboWabo!

Great hotel, will come back every year

This hotel is a jewel! The service is first class, the staff so accommodating and eager to please!
The Brigantine restaurant, unfortunately, has not had sufficient press as yet, but it is a romantic and beautiful place for a delicious dinner. We had dinner there on our last evening in town, and loved the live trio playing all evening, as well.
I have been to this hotel three times. I complained the first time because they did not have sufficient internet access. When I returned, they took me on a tour to show me the new internet access! When they ask if there is something more they can do to make your trip more special, they mean it.
The accommodations themselves are very comfortable and more than spacious as compared to others where we have stayed.
The pool is lovely and kept very clean. There are several pools so the various ages can congregate as they desire.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I complained about the air conditioning sticking, and within an hour I had a new thermostat!
I don't know how you beat that for service, but I'm not going to try: I'm going back as soon as I can find a way to get there!
I'm giving it a 9 of 10, only because you cannot really swim on the beach due to the steep drop off. However, we found some great swimming beaches nearby as well, thanks to some advice from the concierge.

It's the best place ever!

This is the nicest place to stay in Cabo. It’s away from the business, but close enough to walk into town and the beach. It’s on the pacific side of Cabo. You cannot swim in the ocean, but with 7 pools there is no need. They have wonderful service, and very well kept grounds. It’s the best!

This was our second trip to the Playa

This was our second trip to the Playa Grande. While there last year, we liked the resort so well that we purchased a week on the Ridge that was just being built. We got to stay in our new unit this January. The one bedroom has a king-size bed, a Murphy bed, and a couch. It sleeps a total of five. We had two large bathrooms, a full kitchen, a very nice size living room, and a dining room. From the ridge, you had the best of both worlds. While at the pools, you look one way and see the ocean and the other way the marina with all the boats. At night, the lights of the marina and town was breathtaking. The resort has some nice restaurants. It is an easy walk to the marina to eat or to shop at the flee market. When you eat at Ediths- the best.

Best Things Nearby:The Lover's Beach,

Best Things Nearby:The Lover's Beach, the marina and a short walk to town.Best Things About the Resort:No vendors on the beach. Colorful resort and quiet.Resort Experience:The resort sits at the end of Cabo. It's a wonderful place to whale watch or just watch the Sea of Cortez. The waves crash onto the beach and it sounds like they are crashing into your room. We have a unit that faces the beach. The rooms have everything you will need. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Fair Amenities: Very Good Unit Satisfaction: Very Good Family Friendliness: Not Available Service: Very Good

Best Things Nearby:It is an easy

Best Things Nearby:It is an easy 10-minute walk to the marina and town. There are lots of great restaurants and an un-crowded beach--just don't go swimming because of the undertow.Best Things About the Resort:Beautiful!!! There are lots of pools to choose from, spacious rooms, super service from our maid (Rosy), and a very friendly staff.Resort Experience:Playa Grande is, in my opinion, the best resort in Cabo. It is away from the noise of the city but close enough to walk to (10 minutes). It offers everything that one could need. The staff is very helpful and generous. Most of the construction is done, except for the new rooms up on the Ridge. We liked the view from the Ridge of the Marina and upgraded. They offer you great discounts on activities such as fishing, ATV, tours, etc. Take the tour to Todas Santos and enjoy a great meal at Tequila Sunrise Cafe across from the famous Hotel California. Make sure you write your name on the wall like everyone else. We caught a nice 45-pound Dorado and cooked it. We brought the meat home. Make sure you bring your own ice chest down if you go fishing. It is pretty expensive to buy one there. Overall, I loved Cabo and the Playa Grande. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Excellent Amenities: Excellent Unit Satisfaction: Excellent Family Friendliness: Excellent Service: Excellent

Best Things Nearby:La Dulce restaurant.

Best Things Nearby:La Dulce restaurant. This is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the service was good. My only complaint was the waiter did not thank us for the tip, and we left him 20 percent. Try the flan for dessert! The seafood was delicious.
I had the jumbo shrimp.Best Things About the Resort:This is a beautiful resort. The lobby is magnificent. The food at the restaurant was good, but nothing to write home about. The staff is pleasant.Resort Experience:This is a quiet, relaxing place to stay. The room we had was very impressive, nicely furnished and overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
I was able to use my laptop and the wireless connection. The pool was very nice. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Very Good Amenities: Excellent Unit Satisfaction: Excellent Family Friendliness: Excellent Service: Excellent

Best Things Nearby:Easy walking

Best Things Nearby:Easy walking distance to town. Great crafts market just down the hill. Close to marina.Best Things About the Resort:New resort with very comfortable, nice rooms; five pools, one of which is adults only; staff very friendly.Resort Experience:Very beautiful resort with pools and waterways in the center. Has the feel of an old European town. Rooms are plush, with beautiful wood, marble, and stone. Balconies with every room. Every room has ocean view; you can hear waves crashing at night. Every morning, there were lawnmowers - so unpleasant to have morning coffee on the balcony, just too noisy .I could have mowed all the grass they had in one morning. Pool area gets very loud in the afternoon when drunk volleyball starts with happy hour (two-for-one drinks). Great spa and gym, easy to make appointment or drop in. Two restaurants with good food, but not a very big menu. Most of the evenings, we had to call to have the futon made up - the maids didn't remember. One night they had to send security man because all the other staff had left. Unit Type: 1 Bedroom Activities: Fair Amenities: Good Unit Satisfaction: Good Family Friendliness: Good Service: Good
