THEY HAVE CLOSED THIS HOTEL!!!!

Let me be the first to tell everyone that they have finally put up the yellow police tape and closed this "hotel". Everything that was written here was true and it should have been closed long ago but it takes time for a place to be condemned. Sor

A pigsty, not a hotel

I booked three rooms in the Park Avenue Hotel at 60 48th St, Weehawken, NJ 07086 through expedia.com. When I came, it is very surprise for me that people call the building at this address a hotel. No, it is just a pigsty. If a pigsty is unfamiliar with you, think of a toilet that is not flushed. The bed sheets have never changed and cleaned. The toilets are always stuck. The rooms are always filled with smoking smell and the other that only God knows.

The people on the front desk are not receptionists, they are robbers instead. When I came to ask for changing bed sheets, they toll me that they will not do anything: "I have no house keepers, and if you do not like my hotel, get out of my hotel". When I left my key in my room and asked them to help me to open the door, they replied: "I do not have keys, if you want to open the door, you can break it". I call expedia.com, and the representatives were unable to help. Only when I called 911 and local police, the people, oh no, the robbers on the front desk opened the door for me.

Stay away from this so-called "hotel"!

We chose this place because it's cheaper than others for our NY trip. But if there is a next time visiting NY, we'll definitely pay more for a "proper" hotel. This is the worst place I've ever stayed!

Can people just name their place whatever they want? Should there be a standard for "hotel"? If I were him, I would feel bad of myself for those "Park Avenue HOTEL" on the front door!

The neighborhood is very creepy. This place is freaking old, 5 floors and no elevator. There was rarely someone at the reception desk, and if there was, he didn't even bother to reply to our greetings. The room is small and dark, no fridge, dirty pillows and bed sheets. We stayed there for the whole week and they didn't clean up the room for A SINGLE TIME. Neither did they clean up the SHARED bathroom. The bath place was extremely disgusting, we tried to limit taking shower to the minimum.

No one can properly stay at this place, except for all those bugs that we found on our bed.

A complete dump

What a dump! A serious hole! We found rat poison under the bed. Bed sheets were dirty and previously used. No cleaning whatsoever - we had to carry our own garbage to the dumpsters on the street. Obnoxious staff, arrogant and fat. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Disgusting!

This place was really gross. Ticks and bugs in bed. The bath tub had strands of hair in it. The fridge had food crumbs all over and Bed sheets/pillow sheets had stains on it. No elevators. Trust me, you will be very disappointed.

Lucky to have escaped with my life!!!!

The only reason I give this hotel one star is because there isn't an option for negative infinity. This place is dirtier, smellier and more disgusting than the dankest pits of Europe. I would rather stayed in a Thailand prison than sleep there again.

I booked this hotel after receiving information from an online travel agents, who told me it was rated 4 out of 5 stars for cleanliness and service, as well as featuring an in room kitchenette. They also said the hotel featured a 23 minute shuttle service to LaGuardia Airport for $17 and was within walking distance to Manhattan. Apparently the travel agent dropped some acid before giving me this information, and while he was now in a happy place, me and my 2 year old daughter were most certainly not.

The "lobby" is nothing more than an opened up closet with a non English speaking clerk folding laundry behind 5 inch thick bullet proof glass. My room was on the 5th floor, and this hotel obviously does not need business from the handicapped because there was no elevator. I had to carry my luggage, stroller, car seat and two year old up 5 flights of twisted, rickety stairs that smelled like a sumo wrestlers' BO. The "kitchenette" I was told about was nothing more than a dirty sink clogged with black hair, and the sheets were also covered in hair (not just from the head!) THE ROOM HAD NO BATHROOM!! the only restroom was down the hall, to be shared with the meth heads and crack whores that usually frequent this putrefying hole. Luckily there wasn't a fire, because my windows were painted shut. There were empty food containers and a deodorant stick under my bed, and i was lulled to sleep by the sounds of roaches and rats running behind the walls. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful, not willing to tell me even if there was a movie theater close by. turns out there was one a few blocks away. The hotel DOES NOT have shuttle service, and my $17 dollar trip to the airport was actually a $90, 1.5 hour cab ride. Instead of the broken pictures hanging on the dirty walls, they should've put up some fly strips.

When I finally checked out, my taxi driver informed me that a girl had been murdered there 4 months ago, and the only reason people stay at that place is for drugs or prostitution. He also said that the hotel only charges locals around $30 a night, and if they can tell you're from out of town they jack up the price as high as they think you can pay.

The only good thing about my experience was it was across the street from a Dunkin Donuts, which helped me stay awake with coffee because i was too terrified to go to sleep. Also, it is close to JFK Blvd E, which is a $3 bus ride to Manhattan's port authority bus station.

If you like rooms that are clean, service that is friendly and courteous, and a good deal for your money, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM PARK AVE HOTEL AS YOU CAN!!!!!

I'm surprised there wasn't a chalk outline on the dirty bedsheets when i pulled back the covers. The whole place should be barricaded in yellow police tape.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Sketchiest place I have ever stayed!! Very unclean. Doors lead right outside to street and it is not the best area. About a year after I stayed here there was a murder here..My recommendation, just stay in Hoboken or the city and you'll be way better off
