hotel restaurant is horrible

The restaurant CIMA in the hotel has very bad service.
The food is good but the service is poor.
The manager and waiters refuse to help move my family when the outdoor patio seating has a lot bees. My wife got stung and took the management half an hour to come to treat my wife. They came only after she got upset and refused to seat down until someone came and took care of the bee sting. The first manager who talked to my wife first wanted to call the security. It's only after our complain about the bee sting that she stated that she wouild get someone to treat her. But the manager disappeared for 20 minutes without a word. My family was left in the same table with all the bees for a minimum of half an hour. No apologies from the manager.

What a bad experience we had...

Few weeks prior our arrival, we already made our reservations. But unforetunately, when we arrived, rooms were not prepared yet. Yes, we were there at 1:00 p.m. and check-in time was 3:00 p.m. We did wait until 3:30 p.m. but still our rooms were not yet clean and prepared. We waited until 5:30 p.m. and our party will start at 6:00 p.m. How can we prepare ourselves to that big event that we held in that hotel? Staffs from the front desk including supervisor were very unreasonable and does not know how to deal the problem. Also, the big mistake they made was two of our relatives rooms that were given, somebody still laying down in the bed when they open the door. My relatives were so disgusted and upset when they went back to the front desk and complained. I was there standing and waiting to my room, very tired from driving for few hours, waiting and waiting but never heard anybody from the staffs saying "sorry".
Yes, a lot of people were arriving that day but if policy is 3:00 p.m. - check-in time then no matter how many people will check-in at the same day, since, we made our reservations few weeks prior tho our arrival date, rooms should be ready at 3:00 p.m.
This is our first time to experience this kind of problem. We did check-in to a bigger and popular hotel, small hotel and all kinds of hotel from other town, state, and country but did not experience this.

We stayed at this hotel because my

We stayed at this hotel because my husband was attending a conference. This is a great hotel for this type of situation. The staff was very helpful and everything was organized. This would NOT be a wise choice for someone who is vacationing in LA. The hotel is about an hour or two from the airport depending on traffic. It takes forever to get downtown or back to the beach. If however you like to golf or are attending a conference this is perfect. They have under gone a large rehab and upgraded the restaurants, spa and golfing facility. The rooms were roomy and comfortable and every room has a view of either the golf course or the mountains and pool. The grounds are large and make for a nice place to stroll at night. The other drawbacks, beside location, is the pool area is off to the side and not centrally located. They also have no bar area near the pool or any way of ordering something. There is not much around the resort area except neighborhoods. This hotel is great for conference but not vacations.

This Hotel is a great hotel its beautifull & the staff is very helpfull it's a sports hotel with t.v.s in the bar to watch sports, they have a pool & a golf course. We asked the desk clerks if there was a cheap place to eat on premisis & they said the golf course had one & that it was open, we walked all the way through the hotel to find that the restraunt wasn't open so that was an inconvience. Great rooms & very quiet.

It wasnt great then again it wasnt a resort neithe

Our bed was too soft, me and a few others
who was staying here for the weekend got a
really bad backache after the first night.
So we slept on the floor the second night.

Buffet breakfast at CIMA will cost you $14
per person, this buffet is limited in choices
5 items in total to choose from, but it is
all you can eat for what its worth. Dinner
wasn't any better, sorry to say. Over priced
and lacking at type of culinary cuisine as
promised. Website pictures are deceiving.

Guinness World Record: Loudest toilets!

This hotel is actually a convention center and golf course hotel. The hotel is geared towards that, rather than the business traveller. Check in was smooth. staff was very friendly, put me in a corner room because I told them I needed to rest so I could work at the client site during the day. However, no parking for hotel guests separate from convention attendees makes for long walks. $12/night valet parking is not a correct substitute for reserved parking for hotel guests. The views from the rooms are outstanding, the corner room that I had had a nice balcony. The room decor and design is very nice, but the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything, particularly the incredibly loud toilets. Yes, the toilets are unbelievably loud when flushed, because the water pressure is extremely high and no pressure restriction device is installed. You can hear toilets flushing all around you. The carpet in the closet next to the bathroom was soaked during my entire stay, apparently some kind of leak. The cleaning lady took away my soap every day when I left it in the shower with my other shower items. Weird, must be a culture thing. I tried to go to the hotel restaurant but there is only one, it's buffet style and was more like an overcrowded ranch than a restaurant. They wanted me to pay more than $50 for a buffet in an extremely loud room with tons of people crowding around the buffets. Sorry, I'd rather drive and eat someplace where I can enjoy my food in peace. The checkout process was smooth. The location is good for where I was going to work. It is centric and just 20 miles from downtown LA, maybe 30 minutes from LAX.

Hidden oasis outside of LA

Due to the lack of reasonably priced hotels closer to LA, we opted to try our luck at the Pacific Palms. Though it is obviously geared for business people/avid golfers, we were very happy with our choice. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay, attending to any requests. Our room was VERY large, with a nice office area if that is important to you. The furnishings were modern and pleasant. Each room has a small balcony with beautiful views.
We chose to dine at the hotel restaurant CIMA which had excellent food, though a little overpriced.
The only problem with this hotel is the location. It is approximately 30 miles from LA which can be a problem with traffic. In the future, we would stay there a at least a few days to enjoy the golf course/spa, as opposed to using it as a home base for sight seeing in LA.

Excellent experience!

We stayed at the pacific palms for 3 nights and found the place to be very clean and comfortable. Our room was made up perfectly each day. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints about the place whatsoever - I would stay there again in a heartbeat. With the rate we got through travelocity we got a huge bang for our buck!!

They call themselves a resort????

Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights. Lobby was nice and bright, but difficult to find the guest elevators. Room was much smaller than most name brand hotels. Got a cheap rate through an online booking site. The only dining facilty on property was closed for dinner due to low occupancy!!! I was redircted to a tacky sports bar on the bottom floor. I was stuck with no choice for dining, desk agent advised me not to go "down the hill" after sunset!!!???? They call themselves a resort, but be warned...the restaurant operates based on number of guests staying.
