Great Value though abit noisy

Great motel to stay in for downtown Chicago tourists. Big advantage is free parking. A bit of a problem is the noisy disco across the street. But after a day visiting the "Windy City" you fell asleep anyway.

Time Warp In Chicago

Flashback ... Chicago hotel stuck in the 50's and so are the prices! I moved over to the Ohio House from a $250 a night "name brand" hotel three blocks away that was also charging $29 per night for parking. Got a clean room with a functional bathroom. Certainly nothing to write home about but a terrific value if you're watching your money. Location is terrific for virtually everything downtown and the free off street parking (right outside your door) is a wonderful bonus! This placed saved me a bundle that I could spend on lots of other terrific Chicago food, shopping and attractions! Saved enough to buy great theatre tickets that I couldn't have afforded otherwise. Going back in a couple of weeks and will absolutely be staying at the Ohio House.

Great place.

This place was excellent,I am going back,it was central enough to go anywhere I wanted, what more could you want when you want to go go out and about to visit Chicago?
For me there was no point in a big hotel as I do not want to spend my holiday in ,the Idea is to get out and about,I have read some peoples complaints, and I think there unjustified,I went December 06 and it was below freezing,my room was cozy.

The staff were freindly polite, and were alway's wanting to clean my room and make my bed.
Hotel staff were alway helpful in locations, cabs,Ect,and last but no mean least there coffee shop brilliant service.
Can't comment on family room did not see one.

This place is right in the middle of it all. It is nothing fancy, but it is a good place to lay your head for a great value.

Free Parking!

Well, if you are like me paying $30 a day for parking on top of room costs is a little much, but at the Ohio House parking is free. We checked in way early and got to leave the car in the lot the day of check out so we could continue to sight see. The office folk were very kind and helpful. The location is great for nightlife, shopping, and also to catch a trolley ride to Navy Pier. I am scheduling to go back in a few weeks and I needed to find the name of this place...so here I am. the rooms are outdated; however we stayed at the Clairidge also and those rooms were outdated as well..for a much higher price!

Great Location, Clean Hotel

The price was amazing for the location, the room was clean and cool. We would definitely go back.

If you want luxury, keep looking. If you want a clean bed to sleep on - you'll love this place. We checking in 3 hours early and they had our room ready - and didn't give us a hard time about it like other hotels do.

Drive past and don't look back

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. The best thing that could happen to the place would be a dozer taking it down!

The rooms were small and very dated. The plumbing fixtures were old and didn't work properly. If you don't care about feeling safe, this is the place for you. It was terribly loud and made for a sleepless night. The bathroom lacked the usual complimentary toiletries. Also, the room was extremely hot. The heat didn't turn off and the only way to sleep comfortably is with the window open, which presents a problem with noisy people directly outside. I would avoid this place.

Good enough for me

I stayed here last summer. The heat wouldn't shut off but leaving the window open solved that problem. The room was clean and a nice size for $85 a night. The diner had cheap food as well. The breakfeast special was only $3.85 I believe. I'd definatly stay here again.
