Worst Experience Ever - Do Not Stay Here !

Worst experience I have had at any hotel - I have stayed at hotels for 80.00 a night that beat this place . Total bait and switch on the price and the rooms were horrible. The continental breakfast is a joke consisting of packaged mini muffins that cost 50 cents or less at a vending machine . Manager scammed a price to get us there and then changed it at the desk . I dont appreciate having to log online and show a lowere priced advertised at 50.00 less (per night) and then get a song and dance at the front desk . Paid 20.00 per night to park and couldnt even get a space as they sell parking to everybody else in the city and oversell spaces - I had to drive around for an hour and come back 5 times to get a space . HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE

CHECK OUT THE MANAGERS POST BELOW - FARZAM

Hotel was the worst experience. No parking as they oversell the spots to anybody in the city and the hotel guests get stuck driving around for at least an hour to come back and get a space(20.00 parking per night) . Advertised continental breakfast and got Min Muffins that cost 50 cents . Dirty rooms and if you look at the names below that have posted for this hotel - its FARZAM - which is the manager of the hotel . What a joke

Just what we needed

The location is fantastic! We were able to walk to the wedding we attended at the Shutters Hotel, peruse the pier and be close to shopping and food.

The hotel was pleasantly quiet as well. We never heard anyone knocking around or street noises

Santa Monica pier is just across Ocean

Santa Monica pier is just across Ocean Ave and the Prominade Shopping is close behind the hotel. Not far from LAX too. Great place for a weekend get away. Don't expect too much from the breakfast included as bagles, juice, cereal, and coffee is about the extent of it. Rooms are standard hotel rooms. If you want to stay in a fancy room with all the extras Lowes is next door at double the cost. For an "on the beach hotel at a reasonable price" this place can't be beat!

Great value, location, and modern hotel

pros: Comfortable bed, ocean view rooms, great locationThe Ocean View Hotel's location was excellent, across from the beach and pier, and one block from the Third Street Promenade and shopping mall. The rooms were clean and nice, despite other reviews I have read. And the free breakfast and free internet is a bonus. Great value for the price. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel was terrible!! Not only

This hotel was terrible!! Not only were the hallways disgustingly dirty, but we had to tolerate an awful sewer-gas smell all night coming through the vents in our room, as well as in the hallway! Additionally, we only had one light in our room that worked! We couldn't switch rooms as the hotel was "booked solid" so we had to remain in that room. Luckily, we were only staying there for one night before we moved on to Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica (VERY NICE) The Ocean View was honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and for them to charge $349 per night is highway robbery!! Do yourself and your family a favor and stay somewhere else for half the cost!

Rooms were old and run down and so were

Rooms were old and run down and so were the hallways. You had to pay to use the internet in the lobby. Don't be fooled by the pictures. To go to the beach you had to cross a 4 lane street, walk a bit, then walk down many steps, cross an overpass over Pacific Highway, then walk a very long beach to get to the water. The parking lot you see in the picture brings in probably a thousand or more people from different areas to sit on the beach with you. My advice, if you stay here is to walk to the south side of the pier to famous "Muscle Beach" which is pretty cool, but not really convenient. The New Jersey boardwalk and piers are 100 times nicer than the one that is in Santa Monica. Location is good, because up the road is Malibu, and Universal Studios are a short distance away. The best thing around this hotel is the promenade which we visited on a Saturday night, and it had good restaurants, bars and entertainment. Our kids enjoyed that night out.

This hotel is in an excellent location,

This hotel is in an excellent location, you can walk to all of what Santa Monica has to offer. All the restaurants and shopping is right around the corner. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. My husband and I stay at this hotel every year, it is really the best value for the area.

Had planned on staying 4 days but left

Had planned on staying 4 days but left after first night, the balcony on the balcony rooms is about the size of 3 sofa cushions. only one light in the room worked and had to listen to several neighbors all night. in addition to the room charges there is additional 15 dollar a night charge for your car. the hallways are really in need of updating as are the rooms , the towels in the room were stained yellow like they were peed on. the location is perfect though. Internet in room did not work and is cable connection but they advertised wireless , found out is only in lobby.
