We contacted the Jackson Hole Resort Lodging office (), and they recommended Moose Creek townhomes in the Teton Village, right next to the slopes. I have to say that we were absolutely delighted by the accommodations at Moose Creek. The Moose Creek townhomes were magnificent. First, they were located on the slopes, so we could literally strap on our boards and coast down to the first lift and then, at the end of the day, board right to the front door of our unit. Second, the accommodations were the perfect mix of rustic-mountain and luxury. There was an incredible amount of space in the three-bedroom, three-bath condo. Everyone loved their bedroom, and the open-top floor was a great place to congregate, hang-out, eat, and play games. The living room, dining room, and kitchen all run together on the top floor, but you had plenty of solitude on the lower levels if you wanted to chill out, read a book, or hang out in the hot tub. We loved the furnishings, the foosball table in the living room, the large moose head in the dining room, and everything else about the place. Third, the views of the mountain and the valley below were awesome. You got a really good sense of what you were up against on the slopes just by looking out the window. Jackson Hole truly is a beautiful place, and it was nice to be able to appreciate it from our condo. Finally, all of the little things were well-taken-care-of. There were videos and games in the cabinet in the living room. Easy-to-follow instructions for everything in the unit and in the Teton Village were provided. It was also easy to check in and check out, and the resort lodging office was available when we had any questions. We paid about $750 per night, and it was worth every penny. The slate-tiled entrance hall, with its separate "mud room" and benches, was designed with the skier (or summer hiker) in mind. The nicely appointed master bedroom with a private, full bath is also on this first floor. Go up the stairs to a spacious den with a fireplace, dining room, and large kitchen with silver appliances. Each unit at Moose Creek is privately owned, though managed by Jackson Hole Resort Lodging, so I believe the furnishings vary from unit to unit. However, expect alpine lodge decor, like antique skis hanging on the wall, lamps made of antlers, river rocks in a bowl used as a centerpiece on the coffee table... On the bottom floor we had two extra bedrooms (one with twin beds decked out in Ralph Lauren comforters that was perfect for kids) with full bathrooms and televisions. Negatives? If stairs are a problem, this 3-story unit is not the place for you. The washer worked great, but the dryer needed multiple cycles. You have to take a shuttle down into the village if you don't have a car. (There's a private garage here if you have a rental.) Of course, this really wasn't a big deal, and the shuttles run every 15 to 30 minutes. Positives? You're paying for ski-in/ski-out, so the Moose Creek lift is a short walk from your front door. You can take the Way Home trail straight to your unit in the afternoons, so we just went home for grilled cheeses at lunch. While certainly a luxury unit, a group could stay here and split the tab to make it more reasonable. (Rates run from $600 to $1200 per night.) I loved all the attention to comfort details in our unit (no. 31): the wide range of movies that were in a drawer for us to watch, the foosball table, the balconies with everything from a grill to a porch swing.... We especially enjoyed having a drink in the private outdoor hot tub on the back patio deck as snowflakes fell from the sky... marvelous. Extras? Check-in is at 4pm, but when we arrived a couple hours early, they still gave us the keys with no problems. Check-out is at 10am on the morning of departure. If you're gonna buy groceries, stop in Jackson on your way from the airport.
