Lobby.Room and bathroom - there was a sign on the bathroom door that stated the water could not be turned on. The room was bleak but clean. The lobby and desk staff was friendly and nice. The room was bleak and worn. The bathroom was small and had possible water issues.

Lobby.Room. This is a grand dame whose lobby is still grand, with faded, highly variable rooms. Bathrooms are tiny.

The common spaces were beautiful-The room was clean. The room was not updated just painted over old molding, furniture etc without repair-plumbing banged. The hotel's common areas were beautiful. As soon as you exit the elevator and entered the room it was obvious that things were painted but over damaged wood and very old furniture. The bedspreads were very old and in need of replacing. Room service staff was prompt and courteous. The area is exciting by day as it was right downtown but not safe at night.

Though I know it was considered both an historic and luxury hotel, the cleanliness and the furnishings of the guest room were below par. There was also a noticeable odor in the area of the hotel where the more casual dining restaurant was located.

Lobby and public spaces are beautiful.First room was poorly furnished and smelly. Second adequate but not great. Rooms are inadequate to the hotel's prestige. Better to enjoy a coffee in the public spaces and not stay overnight.

The room was quiet and I got a peaceful nights rest. It is an old hotel so the walls are thick and you cannot hear outside noises. The only parking option is valet at $32 per night. In my opinion, this was not a 4-Star Hotel. The beds were not very comfortable. I got a much better nights sleep at the Marriott. It has an old antique style and I prefer a more modern one. The bathroom was old and the caulking around the tub was worn down. The shower pressure was not very good. There is no parking around the hotel so the only option is valet at $32/night. The room was fairly large though compared to other Hotels.

Pool.Needs to be updated. The rooms were small - queen size bed was a joke, the hotel was nice 50 years ago, now it's not.
