It was a very nice motel and it had a good continental breakfast. For the price and the size the rooms were very nice and clean.

We only stayed one night, but the room and hotel was clean, secure, and the very reasonably priced. The staff was very curtioues. The queen beds were much nicer than full size beds offered by other hotels. Hotel was 15 to 30 dollars cheaper than competitors.

UPDATE!!!! Do not try to use Traveler's Disco

I received a refund check in the mail today for the difference between the amount charged us and the amount from the coupon rate. I have regained an appreciation for the Microtel and would stay there again (if they will allow me!).

Do not try to use Traveler's Discount Coupons

We visited this hotel 09-25-04. We called from 150 miles away, explaining we had a coupon for $39.99 for 1-2 people. We reserved two singles with two people in each room. The coupon does not state as some of the others in the booklet do "walk-in only". We were even given a confirmation number after reserving with our credit card. However, upon arrival the night clerk refused to use our coupon. Rather than argue with a night clerk who had no authority we waited until the next morning to talk to the manager, thinking we could ge this cleared up. WRONG! The manager stated that we received an "airport employee" discount making the rooms $49.99 each ("we really are not supposed to do that unless we have a copy of your airport employee ID"), after the night clerk had stated that we would get a "military discount". I picked up a booklet in the lobby that told me the rooms for this time of year are $49.99-59.99 each for a single queen room, but the manager told us that their rooms were $59.99, and with our discount they wold be $49.99! He also said that if we had presented the coupon the night before that it would have been stapled to the registration/bill paperwork, and I again re-iterated that the night clerk refused to accept the coupon. The manager then told me that they had a busload of people come in right before us...what did that have to do with it? Bus tours certainly are not walk-ins...they have reservations well ahead of arrival dates. When I told the manager that we had decided that we wanted to try to use Microtels for all our stops but this had really made us re-consider, and his answer to this was, "well, we are independently owned". I asked him why they even have the coupons in the Travelers Directory if they are not going to honor them. My guess is that they can get people into the facility and most will be too tired to try to find another motel/hotel. The facilities were very nice and the continental breakfast was very satisfactory. However, the management policies we experienced that night/morning were very disatisfactory. I have a management background, and I was taught to treat customers a whole lot differently than we were treated here!
