Not having any family left in the area I needed to find a hotel. The Mariposa is PERFECTLY located. It's right off of the freeway, across the street from the mall (with lots of restaurants, a movie theater, shopping and a gorgeous Whole Foods) and is just 5 minutes from about anywhere you want to go. Downtown Carmel, 5 minutes, Aquarium/Cannery Row, 5 minutes, Pebble Beach's 17 mile drive, 5 minutes. It was awesome. The room had a great bed with crisp, clean linens, a microwave and refrigerator (perfect for leftovers.) We had a fireplace which was really nice too. I could go on and on... Rooms are funky and nicely appointed and they even have I-Pod docks! The location is also good, if you don't need to be downtown you can save some $$$ here.
