When we arrived the hotel was undergoing renovation. Lobby area drywall was being repaired and patched. Reception desk is a small window. Beds are double size and no rollaway beds available. Overall appearance not very flattering. Location was great, located across from Cirque Hawaii, on the corner of Kuhio and Seaside, walking distance from beach and International Market and other shopping areas.

Stayed there fir one night Oct. 30. Room 1309. Moldy smell assaulted you when walking into the room Really bad. Over all condition of the hotel was Run down. Picture of lobby in brochure was misleading and totally inacurate. Pubic hairs in the tub. Mold on the tile in bathroom. Only good thing was that we were only there for 1 night. It was however a good location.

It’s a great location, very comfortable, and has great service. It’s not a luxury hotel, so don't expect it. I had a problem with a leaking air conditioner and was moved to another, better room.

I thought the place was excellent. I loved it! I would love to come back soon. Maybe in 2007 would be a good time. I would recommend it to anyone. The service was great and I loved the pool. I certainly would recommend it to anyone who wants simple comfort. The price was right. If anyone is going to Oahu this is the place to stay. Have fun Aloha!

Aloha and More!

The Marine Surf Hotel, located on steps away from world famous Queen's Beach and right in the middle of fantastic areas, made me feel the true spirit of aloha. From the elegant dining at Matteo's Restaurant to the lounging at the pool, everyone who worked there made me feel welcomed and like I was in their home, not their place of business. While not a large hotel, the Marine Surf is strategically located to allow me to take full advantage of all thge nightlife Waikiki has to offer as well as the numerous surf spots Waikiki possesses. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are literally down the front steps. I won't stay anywhere else. You have to say hello to To'o, the security guard from Samoa who is one of the friendliest and most Waikiki-knowledgeable people you'll ever meet!

I really enjoyed the view from my belcony every morning and the fact that it was just so close to everything! I mean restaurants malls and that neat little shop next to Mc Donald's and that bakery across from that is to die for! When I go back I am definatly staying at the Marine Surf again, did I mention that the price was great?

The Marine Surf Waikiki Hotel is a great hotel. The prices are excellent. Room was clean and cool(A/C), refrigerator with ice and cold water waiting, coffee, and dishes. The elevator is secure. Within walking distance to all attractions in Waikiki. Bus stop near by but walking is so much nicer. Spent 3 days/2 nights(Aug04)and enjoyed the beaches. Staff is very nice, parking ample and a great price($5/day). Not much of view from the room except of the city below, the best view is from the beach(always)! Waikiki is an awesome place. If you want a fancy hotel go somewhere else, you want clean and nice, great price, this is the place! I will be staying again in Oct. Do not pass this place up.
