Not a 4 star hotel

We stayed here in July 2009 after reading on the hotel website about room refurbs, etc. Our room was not refurbed and in fact had a hole in the wall, carpet with hard, crunchy spots, cracked walls. Added to this was the shower gel on the bathroom tiles from the previous guest. There must be better places to stay with a better offer in the centre of such a lovely city.

A red carpet leads to the discreet

A red carpet leads to the discreet hotel entrance, a small gold plaque to declare it''s prescence.

Upon entering reception, you are greeted with a tinkling of the piano being played in the lounge, and flickering candle lamps to create a distingusihed ambiance.

The rooms are well-catered, extremely clean and of a very high quality. If you include breakfast with your stay, it is a satisfying start to the day with plenty to choose from the varied buffet.

To relax and unwind after a day''s exploring in Edinburgh, there is a gym, pool and sauna, open from early to late so you can fit it into your schedule.
