The staff is friendly and helpful. I would suggest a suite,the rooms are large and clean. The breakfast was good and the evening drinks were ok,they to have some snacks. The only problem is the wireless internet,it does not work,but I know they are working on it or so I was told. They offer airport shuttle for free and they will also take you to the plaza or the mall. We just returned from a week at the MCM Elegante in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We stayed for eight days and seven nights. Throughout our trip it seemed as though there was always something that was in a state of disrepair. When we checked in...we were told that the dryers were out of service...that was on a Saturday...there were literally hundreds of baseball players staying at the hotel when we were there. I was not once able to wash my son's uniform and dry it...either the washers or dryers were out of repair...the elevators were intermittently out of order...two people even got stuck on it one night...in addition our air conditioner was weak at best...the temperature ranged from 97-104 degrees when we were there...the faucets for the shower are mounted backwards and every now and then one received a shot of really hot water while showering...we were lucky enough to be staying at the hotel when there was a power failure one night...we went to the bar with our tickets for "two free complimentary drinks"...and were told that they "were trying to keep people out of the bar tonight because we don't have power". We left per their request. They refused to honor the tickets from the night before...and they were quite rude about it. Location is good. We enjoyed the free drinks at the bar. It was not too noisy like many bars can be. The breakfast was very good and the staff in the dining room and bar were very friendly. Our kids came and joined us at the swimming pool and had a great time. The night we arrived the pool was closed for "maintenance" and we were told the hot tub would be closed for a month for repairs!! (The pool, with pretty cold water and cold air coming through the pool area vents during the month of February was closed again the final night of our stay! ) We simply would not have chosen this hotel knowing these were not available. The good news is that they are clearly trying to update and improve a somewhat older and worn facility, and that the staff was uniformly efficient and eager to be of service. Thus the dichotomy that the beds were terrific while the room's bathrooms were on the small side and showing their age. The breakfast buffet included made-to-order omelets each day but the fruit was canned and there were few healthy options (no yogurt or whole grained anything except raisin bran and oatmeal). The beds were awesome. I liked that we could step out on the balcony. The pool was open but the hot tub, the main reason we choose this hotel, was out of service. Had I known the hot tub was out of service, we would not have stayed here. The breakfast was very good. We went to the bar and used the comp drinks, although we didn't drink alcohol, they were nice to have. Liked the rocking atmosphere of the bar. All in all it was a nice stay.
