Nice appearance, but rooms tell a different story.

It was a very nice hotel:the lobby. the room was a different story, we did get it at a very decent price, $99, but the room was small, smelled musty, and you could hardly close the restroom door. they did have pbj and hot chocolate-complimentary.

The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff went well above the call of duty. The accommodations were pleasant and always clean. I will definitely return on my next trip to New Orleans.

I simply do not understand the negative

I simply do not understand the negative reviews I've read. My husband and I stayed at Le Pavillon for a long weekend and were charmed at every turn. Yes, the room is small. So are many hotel rooms. But it wasn't as small as some reviews have stated - we had a king bed, two nightstands, a desk, armoire (w/TV) and a round sitting table with 2 chairs. The entryway left plenty of space for a suitcase on a stand. My ONLY room complaint would be no bathtub, instead it had a shower over a small footbath tub. But this was a small thing in an otherwise charmy (yes, quirky - but charming nonetheless) hotel. Our flight was much later than anticipated and we forced ourselves to stay in and eat in the Crystal Room. Food and service were exceptional and far exceeded my admittedly small expectations. The pool area? I found it quite accurately depicted in the photos - it was just as I'd pictured it. Being on the rooftop adds to the fun. I didn't use a cabana as they were occupied on the day I thought I might. But no worry, there was plenty of seating and even some shade on the day I was there.Fitness center is a treadmill or two, a bike, an elliptical and weights. Not well appointed, but adequate. They also had videos available for yoga, etc... and a fridge well stocked with complimentary bottled Le Pavillon water. All staff were extremely service oriented. We felt pampered and rested when we left. We'll definitely stay at Le Pavillon again!

The room was so tiny you could not even turn around. No joke. We had a tiny uncomfortable bed. We asked for a larger bed and they said that the room would be the same size, I can not see how that could be possible. The pool area too, from the internet site looks really grande, invision that area scaled down by70%. I have never seen a fuller pool in my life . Full of toddlers, no less. Not romantic in the least.

Where to begin, the hospitality is nice

Where to begin, the hospitality is nice here, but overwhelming at times. The doormen are very nice, the desk help were also fairly nice- housekeeping staff had a little attitude when we were asking for our room to be serviced later in the day- they prefer to clean at 8am because "they have kids at home waiting" (that's a qoute from one of housekeepers when we hung our service card on the door at 2pm Sunday). The computer was down at check- in so it took a few minutes to get our room key. The room was VERY VERY small and the walls are paper thin... We could hear our neighbors all night. The location isn't the greatest for young adults or if you want to shop and sight see, it is alot of walking in humid weather to get to Canal Street, as for Bourbon street it is a hike to get there too- we rented a car to get around -cost 30.00/day to park at the hotel lot!! The street is quiet but a little to far from the N.O. charm I like! Also, the room-service food was nasty- we ordered a $12.00 "Gourmet Pizza" and it was a Freschetta Frozen Pizza ! We ordered 2 hamburgers when we first flew in and they came with half cooked fries and it cost us $58.00 in total- no drinks or anything! The burgers were greasy as well, and tasted like fast food, not Gourmet and this place was supposedly really fancy - so the frozen pizza and fast food burger threw us for a loop! I liked the old historical charm but the bed was lumpy, the pillows flat and the bed linens need to be updated, they look like they have been there since the 1900's!

We ate in the Restaurant and it was great. The best Bread Pudding I have ever had. Close to all the action but a few blocks away so it was quiet when you returned to the hotel.

The hotel is not only beautiful and historic, but also has a great staff, always willing to accommodate your every need. The rooms are spacious and clean; when you walked into your room, after being all day sightseeing, it smelled fresh and clean. The location is great if you don't mind walking about 5 blocks to the French Qtr. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

My daughter and I went for a long weekend to New Orlens and were very happy with Le Pavillon. This hotel has class and outstanding costumer service. The late night snack with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were a great surprise. We certainly reccomend this hotel! GG
