Went for Christmas. Great views of bay and bridge. Wonderful access to everything. Walking distance to all trolleys. Short walk from financial district to union square. Short walk to bart and muni which takes you anywhere - even the airport - faster than driving or taxi. Large comfortable room & beds. Room service food good and quick. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - however, they recommended a $125 per meal /per person restraunt (AQUA)without checking to see if it was in our budget - we were quite surprised when we got there. There were other very good more reasonable places in the area (try Tadisch).

Way overpriced, extremely unfriendly staff (especially customer service operators), 3 billing errors and limited assistance in resolving them.
I live/work in the bay area, but often stay overnight in SF and this has been the worst SF hotel experience out of all my stays (6 in total).

The staff at le meridien are amazing. Extremely helpful. The rooms are pretty nice, and the hotel is in a good area. Very close to embarcadero, and also very close to the cable car system. maybe a 20min walk to the warf. Both check-in staff and housekeeping were fantastic. would definitely stay there again.

We usually stay in Union Square when we go to SF, but decided on this hotel for a change. What a great place! We will definitely stay here again. It is a ten minute walk from North Beach, Union Square and environs, but so much quieter than Union Square. Right across the street from Embarcadero Center, and a quick walk to the Ferry Plaza. BART is nearby, as is the California Street cable car. Couldn't have been happier. And the staff is outstanding: very friendly and helpful, and always with a smile.

Missing San Francisco and Le Meridien

I stayed there April of 2007 for 3 days. My family and I were on vacation with 2 kids. The room was clean and tidy during our 3 days stay. Beds were comfortable. Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf was very accessible due to the complimentary use of the house car, it's available for us even if we didn't make advance reservations! The staff was very accomodating and helpful! They made us feel right at home. I loved our stay there, if we go back to San Francisco, we'll definitely stay there again!

I loved the location, the staff, the room and bedding. The staff was extremely nice and always helpful. The bedding was crisp, soft and very comfortable. I would definetly stay in this hotel when I visit San Francisco and seek out any Le Meridien in any city I visit in the future.

This new addition to the Le Meridien chain in San Francisco provides excellent service in a convenient downtown location. Many rooms offer excellent views of the skyline and the bridges.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien so

We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien so much it would be one of the reasons for us to return to San Francisco. The bed & duvet were the most comfortable we had encountered outside of our own home. The location on Battery St. allowed us the opportunity of a good walk along the Embarcedero to Pier 39 one way or to the shops & restaurants at Union Square the other. This hotel definetely made our recent stay in San Francisco a 10.

Excellent experience!

Actually, I loved the hotel's location. It's in the financial district, away from the hustle and bustle of Union Square. My sister and I had a twin room on the 11th floor with a city view. Even with the city view, we could still see a large part of the Bay. The room was great! I loved the modern, yet contemporary decor, not to mention the beautiful marble bathroom. That was the prettiest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel! I found the staff and concierge to be above average as well. I rang the front desk for a pair of scissors and a minute or two later, a staff member was at the door. I did find the two restaurants in the hotel to be a bit pricey, so we mostly ate at the Embarcadero Center, literally across the street. The hotel is also in walking distance to Chinatown and North Beach, and only a six dollar cab ride from Pier 39. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting SF, be it business or pleasure. We had a five star experience all around!
