The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If you want an environment that's quiet (no kids), this isn't it. This is a property that has been here a while. But it has been kept up very well. The rooms are clean and the beds are heavenly. The bathrooms are a little small. The bath tub could not accommodate anyone but a very small individual. You couldn't bath in it, but it was adequate as a shower. They have their own parking garage, but they charge you $24/day to park there.

The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. The pool was the highlight with ocean view.$24 a night for parking is over doing it since you are a paying guest. The staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean. The spa was absolutely amazing. Poolside was the best time enjoying drinks and a beautiful ocean view. Great relaxation, exactly what we went for.

First I have to mention that the breakfast buffet eaten on the patio overlooking the grounds and ocean was one of the best and most beautiful I've had anywhere. This is a laid back yet beautifully elegant property. Location is perfect, Service is excellent. Nobody has mentioned the Spa which is one of the best in southern CA! Our view from the room w/balcony overlooked the pool and ocean, and was beautiful either day or night.

Location.Room appearance. This hotel is not at all what I expected. The rooms were very small and not at all luxurious. The closest vending machine was too far. The restaurants were not accommodating, so we had to go elsewhere.

Very friendly staff. My air conditioner didn't work well. I was able to walk to the Doheny Blues Festival which was held right down the street. I should've called about getting the air conditioner fixed, as the staff assured me it would've been fixed. My 2 meals in-room were hot and right on time and delicious. I'm thinking of making this an annual event!

Comfy furniture. Coffee/tea bar. Spa - pedicure.Signage to spa. No curtain by head of bed to block light from sitting area. Great location - not too far from L.A. but totally different in feeling; very relaxing. Breakfast was more than we anticipated, in both quantity and price (especially for Sunday brunch). Loved the spa experience of getting a pedicure. The concierge made reservations for afternoon tea nearby, as well as whale and dolphin watching - fabulous!

The location was great beautiful scenery and a short walk to the beach and harbor. Surrounding restaurants were great as well. The hotel gym was very nice and the kids loved the warm pool!

No way would I recommend this place

I went here for my bachelorette party with about 8 close friends. First off the lady at the front desk moved in slow motion. Most of us had SpaFinder gift cards and she leisurely took her time checking us in. It took around a 45minutes for us to finally get our keys and spa slippers. Thank god we got there hours before our appointments. Later we laid out by the pool, which was very nice, and ordered a few drinks. Once again, it took (not joking) 25 minutes to get 3 beers, an iced tea and a few pina coladas. The pool waiter told us he was new, but still...it should not have taken as long as it did. It wasn't like the pool was packed or anything. After lounging by the pool for a bit we went to the restaurant/cafe on the second floor of the hotel. The food was so-so, but once again...our waitress was ultra slow. On top of that, I received my iced tea in a glass that was sticky and had finger prints all over it. I don't recommend getting iced tea here because it tastes like it's made from a powder.
Another thing was that in the brochure they faxed us it said a pedicure was $55. There were no additional costs listed on the menu. My sister, being on a tight budget, booked a pedicure. She said that the woman didn't even massage her legs like most places do. They also charged her $65. In addition, she asked for a french pedicure which was a ridiculous $25 dollars more. They never disclosed that having a french pedicure would be an additional charge. My poor (literally) sister ended up paying just about $100, after the 20% automatic gratuity for a stupid pedicure. Once we got back to our car I took the brochure back inside to show them that it was only $55 and the lady took it out of my hand and said it was an error. She did give my sister back $10...but as far as the extra for the french, she said "it says it on the menu" although it did not. Instead of making a fuss, we just decided to leave.
Overall, my friends and I had a really good time, but I would NEVER recommend going to The Spa at Laguna Cliffs. The people who work in the spa were slow and inconsiderate to us. It was basically a hotel spa, so I guess that's what we should have expected. I'd recommend when booking a day spa that you do it at an actual "DAY SPA" and not one affiliated with a hotel. They're just out to charge you an obscene amount for crappy service.
Definitely go somewhere else. I like Burke Williams off of Crown Valley. Although there is no outdoor areas nor pools, they make you feel so special there and the prices are WAY cheaper. Good luck!
