When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. I was given a very nice room with the quieter rooms being located towards the front of the hotel. Yes you can hear train noises but it did not bother my sleep one bit. Overall I have to say this is the nicest La Quinta I've ever stayed at. Beautifully maintained grounds & pool.
