Dysfunctional

My wife and I went there last a few years ago and had a most unsettling experience. (We had stayed there prior to that and had had a very nice time.) The housekeeper's behavior was bizarre: when we went down for breakfast on Sunday at mid-morning, nothing had been prepared! The housekeeper was wandering around mumbling that her food had been stolen from the kitchen. It was obvious that she hadn't prepared anything. She hadn't even made any coffee! It was very weird. My wife and I suspected she was 'under the influence' of something. We went out for breakfast, returned to our room, packed and left. We've never gone back.

Awesome place and excellent service

Loved the rooms, location, service, with history and also elegance. This is a Bed and Breakfast, I visited the website, and they delivered on everything the website states. Great location, walking distance from so much fun stuff to do.
The innkeeper very helpful with the area and everything from directions to breakfast on the go. Breakfast and snacks very tasty and healthy. The rooms even had a DVD player with a great selection of free movies to watch. Tucked away off the main street area, so no train noises and heavy traffic problems. I will definately recommend the place and visit again as soon as I can.

Very disappointing- don't bother!

The room while seemingly clean was very small and confining. The bathroom was incredibly outdated and dangerous (ex. in-ground tub with hand-held shower, so you had to kneel and hold shower up over your head to bathe). We stayed for two nights and 'house rules' indicate that your room will be serviced (ex. bed made, fresh towels etc.)- ours was not!! I had to make our bed each day and request fresh towels. We were promised wine and cheese upon arrival which we received the day after check in. Also, the dirty dishes remained in our room- I had to bring them out to the kitchen once they began to smell!!! We had the least expensive room and paid only $105 which was much, much more than the room was worth. I was incredibly disappointed with this inn/service. My husband and I travel often and have visited a number of inns and this by far is one of the worst. I would not recommend staying at this inn. And, I can't imagine anyone calling this place 'luxurious'!!
