What a pleasant surprise

Just returned from our first usage of this time-share. Nice location, very clean and all amenities one would need on a vacation. The internet in rooms was standard rates and made life easy. We had our immediate family, which included our two adult sons. Required we rent a roll-a-way which was very affordable (nice feature that it fit in closet during day). The
in-room washer/dryer were a lifesaver. We stayed in a first floor unit therefore, no view. No problem we were too busy enjoying the island. Short walk across the street to the beach. Great for the many pictures we took at sunset and we saw several whales, dolphins and flying fish during the day.
The concierge was very helpful in booking snorkeling and whale watching for us. She also gave us great ideas about what to do and where to go depending on any budget constraints. She actually drew maps and pointed all the things we could do on our own to experience the whole Maui experience. We are all looking forward to our return next year. Aloha!

Nice Property - good value

This was a nice property -- not very crowded and fairly quiet. The pool was very nice and included a hot tub and gas barbeque area (2 good sized grills). We stayed in a 1 BR unit and it was a large unit and quite comfortable. The small, complete kitchen was all we needed (even included a small washer & dryer). The location is across the street from the beach, though not much of an ocean view because of the large buildings across the street, but some units apparently can see the ocean. Ours looked at the back of some houses next door, but that was fine.

We did get wireless internet access, but apparently picked it up from one of the neighboring businesses or homes as they did not offer wireless access here. We could also pick up pay-per-use access from another property nearby. Another review mentions the dial-up option but we did not bother. The grounds were well maintained and parking was plentiful. It was a drive to most anywhere, but there is a McDonalds, Outback Steak House and another very good restaurant just down the block in a shopping center. We have booked another stay here for this year, so that tells you something about our nice experience.

Great location and would stay there again.

Clean facilities and right across the street from the beach access where we we saw whales from a distance and a sea turtle that popped his head out of the water during our morning stroll on the beach. We were quite surprised because we were told whale sightings at that time would be scarce. It is very close to Napili Beach and our favorite breakfast Restaurant (Gazebo Maui). This is the area where we spent a lot of our time snorkling and enjoying the Maui sun. This is our 2nd time going to Maui and stayed in this area during our 1st visit but at a different resort. The Villa is driving distance to Kaanapali and Lahaina. We had (2) 1 Bedroom and 1 bath ground units F105 & F106 with wireless internet access which was free. There were times when we would be disconnected. The unit was probably far from the router to get an excellent reception. Nonetheless, it was free. After being there, I noticed the units above us and would think they definitely would have some sort of view of the beach. If so, I would put in a request to stay in those units. The area is nice and quiet and we would definitely stay there again.

The facility had a Lei making class that lasted an hour. So, the ladies in our group really enjoyed that and would definitely do it again. Whatever you make is yours to keep.

Again, our group of 8 people (4 couples) would definitely stay there again.

Very Nice Experience

Clean facility, wonderful grounds, pool and barbeque were very nice and not crowded. We would certainly stay again. The only draw back was that we found ourselves driving to Kihei each day, and might stay in that area next time.

Kahana Villas Resort in Lahaina, Maui Hawaii

We just stayed at the Kahana Villas resort. Nice place, easy to find. The public beach is across the street, these are not beachfront properties. The office staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice. Internet access was $3.00 for 15 minutes and more after that for DSL. No in room high speed connection though they did offer an in-room dialup service for 75 cents for 30 mins and 25 cents each additional minute. Outgoing calls (local and otherwise were 75 cents each. This seemed pretty steep but we just brought our cell phone and didn't use their phones. Front street (the trendier shopping/eating area) is about 2 miles down the road. The resort is about 45 minutes from the airport and from most of the activities like atv rides, biking down Mt. Haleakala, etc. Scuba diving/snorkeling and surfing are all close by however. Most of the watersports were close I guess you could say. Land activities were farther away. But I think that's the case no matter where you stay on Maui as all the big hotels are not in the central "valley" part of the island.
