Charming Boutique Style Hotel

Jurys Normandy Inn is nestled among the embassies on a quite neighborhood street. The boutique style hotel offers a personalized hotel experience to guests and a great location accessible to Woodley Park, Kalorama/Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle.

The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. My room did not get cellular service, so I asked for another. I was then informed that the entire hotel lacks reception, and I would have to stand in front of the hotel to talk. After staying there for one night, I ended up with bites all over my legs. Something - spiders, bed bugs, does it really matter? - was living in the bed. I checked out first thing in the morning and immediately washed all my clothes twice.

I stayed in this hotel a number of years ago, before Jury's bought and remodelled it. The rooms are now very comfortable, and the common area with coffee was particularly pleasant. The staff were very helpful and made my stay very pleasant.

It was a lovely European style hotel with comfortable beds, small but well designed rooms and an excellent staff. It also had a convenient location with access to a nearby business center. It was an excellent location for business travel.

The location, the comfort and the service were fine. The remote control to the television did not work. This was not a huge issue for me as I was out of the room most of the time. I really liked this hotel because it was not as big as some of the others in the area. It was more personal and conveniently situated. The people at the service desk were extremely nice. They did not have a restaurant, but they did serve breakfast and had tea time in the afternoon. I would stay there again and I would recommend it to others.

My husband and I loved this hotel's quaint European atmosphere, comfortable public rooms, cleanliness, nice room with comfortable bed. The only thing my husband did not like is the lack of complementary breakfast. They did offer snacks in the late afternoon. The neighborhood has many embassies and other interesting buildings, plus lots of restaurants and shops just a short walk. We would definitely stay here again.

On the corner of Wyoming and busy

On the corner of Wyoming and busy Connecticut Ave sits the Jurys Normandy Inn. This gives it a very nice location in that it is walking distance to Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, and Woodley Park (where the Zoo is). That's 3 very cool areas of DC within a few blocks of this place. Also, it is just about equa-distance to two Metro stations.

Parking here is really bad. They have a limited garage for guests and the spaces are first-come, first serve only. If you miss out, you're in trouble because there is very little street parking in this area, with the majority of curbs being reserved for Diplomats of the numerous area Embassys. Get here early to grab a space, then hoof it or take the metro your whole stay. Once you get a space, leave it parked. You've been warned.

This is a fairly elegant hotel which is a bit pricey usualy, but if you hunt around the Internet you can sometimes score a room for under $200. The rooms are smallish, but very nice and chic.

The staff is slightly uppity, but not overly so. Let's call it 'reserved' maybe, as they aren't mean at all. In fact, they will go over and above expectations to try to meet any requests.

PROS: fabulous location
CONS: Very limited parking
