Cheap at Best!

I live here and played almost daily. Today, being my last day for awhile, I could not get a beer at my playing location. I paused my playing, asked a friend to watch for me while I went for a beer. To my shock I was asked by the bar tender to pay for the beer! I can afford to pay but I thought of how cheap...are they really making that little money that beer is going to break the bank? Needless to say, we packed it in and headed on down to Biloxi to the IP where I have never had this problem. I think the IP is better but live just down from the Islandview. Oh well, the I can afford the drive.

Worst casino experience we've ever had!

We took my father to the casino for Fathers Day and had the worst experience. The hotel buffet had several items that should be hot that were almost ice cold and the staff could have cared less if we were there. Food had about as much flavor as an old dish cloth, which they should actually learn to use. I don't know how the food rating even made it as high as a B with so many food violations.
The casino was much nicer looking and clean but that's where the compliments stop. We played in the same slot area for 2 hours and couldn't get a waitress/waiter to even acknowledge that we were even there. Talked to multiple "managers" that reassured us that they would have someone over immediately...no one ever came. We had to finally go to the cashier cage to get a real manager. He got us with the beverage manager that only gave a half attentive apology. I ended up having to take the drinks to my family who took a sip of them, cached out and left. Went to the Beau Rivage and had drinks in hand before I could pull the slot handle 2 times. The Island View has lost this family and would do well to follow a real casino's lead. This by far is the worst casino I have ever had the misfortune to spend time in.

The Island View hotel is a first rate facility. It is located across the street from the beach and it is very easy to find. The food in the buffet is excellent, both for its variety and taste. The room was large and comfortable. It is certainly a hotel th

Very nice!

Very nice hotel. Check in was quick and easy. Elevators were a generous size and quite a few of them. Security was plentiful. Rooms were tastefully decorated in beige, yellow, gold, light blue and light green. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were quality and soft, the down duvet between the sheet and comforter was a very nice touch. The plasma tv had a great picture. The phones had a touch screen - very cool. The tables and desk had marble tops. The bathrooms were roomy and clean. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion were a little larger sized than many hotels I've been to. The coffee pot is for single sized servings.

A couple of things that annoyed me, security knocked on our door and woke us up at 5:45 a.m. She announced "Security" and proceeded to the next room without waiting for an answer. Not sure what the purpose of that was. We also put the "do not disturb" tab on the door and housekeeping knocked and peeked in anyway! I also didn't like the fact that I could hear the conversation taking place in the next room near the adjoining door. Maybe they were just hard of hearing and talking loudly, I'm not sure.

The casino was nice, not too crowded. The drink servers passed by frequently. Their uniforms were not in the best taste however, the service was very good.

We are at the buffet for one dinner and one lunch. The buffet was excellent! Plenty of variety and spread out well. The new C & G grill looked real nice and smelled like grilled steaks, mmmm. We ate at Emerils one night. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, but overpriced for the serving portions. (nearly $200.00 for 3 people) (3 entrees, 2 salads, 1 glass of wine and 1 dessert)

The parking was close by considering it was across the street. They had a tour van that brought us and our luggage to the front door of the hotel. Nice Christmas decorations.

All in all an excellent place to visit. I highly recommend it.
