The hotel lobby is beautiful, however, once inside you have to figure out where the lobby is lcoated as the concierge sits right there. I had a problem upon entering the hotel, the doorman didn't open the door or offered any help. The front desk was somewhat friendlier. After struggling with our bags, the front desk gentleman did ask "did we need valet." After dragging your gabs across the lobby, the elevators was a stone throw away, so we replied "no." I reported the incident to the manager on staff and her reply "what would you like me to do." I felt she was very condesending and did not offer any other help. I wrote a letter to the general manager - I did get a response and he stated he would get back to me soon. My visit was superbowl weekend (1/31 - 2/1) and I'm still waiting for a final response. The hotel is extremely expensive and having your guest pay $38/daily for valet is quite ridiculous. Vending is expensive $2.50 for a bottle soda.My overall experience was not pleasant, not even at the coffee shop (Starbucks) everyone seems so uptight. I'm from Maryland and is accustomed to superior customer service but did not get that from the Hilton. If you are looking for something to do, there is nothing around, you will need a vehicle or you are forced to eat in. Not convenient to anything.I would definitely not recommend to family or friends based on the treatment received.

All Review Photos HYATT HARBORSIDE

All Review Photos HYATT HARBORSIDE Boston101 Harborside DriveBoston, MA 02128Tel. (617) 568-1234www.harborside.hyatt.comLOCATION : We have to break this hotel’s location rating into 2.Excellent The views of the downtown skyline and harbor are fantastic, specially at night. One can just sit and enjoy the view for hours from the patio on the ground level, the harborwalk that spans the back of the hotel or better yet, one of the guest rooms facing the harbor. Airport (Logan Int’l.) is VERY accessible, so no traffic to worry about and being late for one’s flight. Average Restaurant/food access is limited to what’s in the hotel as downtown is about 6 miles away and accessible by car, cab, the water taxi or the "T" (subway train).Because of the distance from the commercial center, it proved to be a little bit of an inconvenience when we could not just get out of the hotel and walk around to check out other restaurants or go back to the hotel for a short break in between sight seeing as we would normally do during trips.Although the water taxi terminal is right at the back of the hotel, the $ 10/one way or $ 17/roundtrip fare was not really savings both in cost and time. The best option for us was the "T" leaving the hotel for the day meant exactly that, a whole-day’s trip, only returning to the hotel when it’s time to call it a day, which normally was before 6pm. ACCOMMODATIONS: ExcellentRooms facing the harbor and downtown comes with an additional premium. However, the same view can be enjoyed free elsewhere at the hotel (ex. , lounge chairs at the back of the hotel provided specifically for that). Rooms were spacious with contemporary décor in predominantly dark chocolate and white. A long marble-topped desk spanning nearly the wall facing the bed also worked as TV stand coffee center and desk.A 2-seater couch with 2 ottomans also serve as table/trays room service dining. The bathroom echoed the contemporary feel of the room. Toiletries provided included, great scented shampoo, conditioner and a branded (Aquafresh) toothpaste, which, truthfully, we prefer as versus the generic toothpaste other hotels provide.Other in-room amenities : iPod dock/clock radio / WiFi.AMENITIES : GoodDINING : Main dining option is basically the lobby’s Harborside Grill and Patio with the Harborside Lounge occupying the far side of the restaurant. The restaurant/lounge has floor to ceiling glass windows facing the fantastic harbor and skyline view or one has the option to dining al-fresco on the small courtyard right outside.GYM/INDOOR POOL : Ground floor facing "the" view.HARBORWALK : A paved trail that spans the back of the hotel (goes on for a little less than a mile), great for leisurely walks or as others did, jogging.WATER TAXI TERMINAL : Right at the back of the hotel.24-HR FREE HOTEL SHUTTLE : Runs to the airport and the nearest "T" (train) terminal. Guests can just call the hotel for pick-up from the train terminal. (Tip : Store/save the hotel’s phone # upon your departure so you can call for pick-up from the airport upon your arrival and whenever coming from the train terminal back to the hotel.)SERVICE : ExcellentWe’d have to give service thumbs up. Special mention goes to one particular waitstaff (whose name escapes me now since it’s been over a couple of months since our trip and I have misplaced some of my notes with his name on it) who, from our breakfast (on our first day) made quite an impression on us with his attitude and service and made us truly impressed that with our succeeding dining made us hope and looked for him. The Front Desk staff were commendable as well with their fast yet friendly service. Not to be forgotten were the shuttle drivers, who were so helpful in providing us info each day for our jaunts.Overall : Hyatt Harborside is ABOVE AVERAGE with only it’s location as versus downtown accessibility keeping us from rating it as EXCELLENT and would still recommend it.

The staff at this hotel were unbelievable! They were friendly, helpful and very informative. I would definitely stay there again when we visit Boston. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a hotel staff, as I did when I was there last November. Their shuttle service never tired of running me back and forth to the train at the airport. Thanks to all!

Very convenient location and great

Very convenient location and great service.“I stayed here because I had a very early morning flight out of Logan Airport. I checked in at about 6:30 pm and had to leave at about 5:30 the next morning, so I had only a brief stay but was able to spend a very relaxing hour and a half at the gym and the pool/hot tub. It was dark out but the skyline of Boston lit up at night is still stunning. Staying here for the pool alone is worth it! I've also never experienced such friendly and professional hotel staff in my life. Did not eat at the restaurant or use room service but the restaurant looked very nice as well. When I checked in, I was offered an upgrade to a room with a harbor view for $20 - I would have been tempted if I were staying longer but decided it was not worth it for a short stay. Besides, you get the same view from the pool.”

I did not even have to stay at this hotel to receive a poor impression. I was charged a $25 fee to cancel my reservation 6 weeks in advance. I am told it is a Hyatt policy and after 7 phone calls have not been able to get the fee waived. This is

Amazing views throughout the hotel. Staff went out of their way to accommodate and make you feel welcome. Room decor was colorful and modern with many extra comforts.”

I loved the view of the airport

I loved the view of the airport runways! The Boston Harbor was beautiful as well.Price for parking at $33/day! Are you kidding?“My husband and I enjoyed an excellent steak dinner. Again, pricey but very tasty and elegantly served. Had a private room with almost no noise at all (an occasional slammed door from nearby). I love the soaps, citrus and lavender, what a beautiful fragrance. The pool is a bit on the cold side but refreshing. We liked that it was a salt-water pool and didn't burn our eyes like chlorine pools. Again, the view and location are superb. We had no problems other than the pricey parking lot.”

The view of Boston from the outside patio restaurant. The trash can in our room had not been emptied and there was a tear in the sheet on my bed and parking should be included.“The hotel has a wonderful view of Boston over the harbor and the room was modern & very comfortable. Parking should be included with the cost of the room. $32 for parking in a lot with hardly any cars in. This hotel is not in downtown Boston!”
