I'm glad that they are remodeling and I can't wait to stay again next year for the Ididarod! You can stand right in your warm room and watch the teams go past as they start the trail! Continental breakfast leaves much to be desired, but the coffee

It was downtown so we could walk around

It was downtown so we could walk around to the shops and the mall.It felt like a cheap hotel without a microwave.“The TV didn't work right. We arrived back to our hotel after coming from the fair. I wanted to warm up our food we had no microwave in the room so I went up to front desk which was not a short walk. The front desk reply was there was no access to a microwave till the morning. Also shortly after arriving we ran into an elderly couple who had checked in when we were checking in. They had accidentally left their camera bag outside the door for maybe 10 minutes, it had been stolen with their medication and car keys in it.”

Reasonably close to downtown area.Long

Reasonably close to downtown area.Long hallways.“This hotel got the job done for us. The room was fine. Nothing fancy. The hallways were really long. I literally think we had to walk 1/4 mile through hallways to get to our room from the front desk. The next day I discovered that there was a parking lot near our room, but the entrance over there wouldn't have been accessible after hours anyway. It looked like the hotel offered a complimentary computer in the lobby for internet access. The hotel is located less than half a mile from the downtown area of Anchorage. The hotel is a very short walk to the train station. I would be willing to stay here again.”

It was available.Poorly maintained.“The hotel actually does not face the main street as implied by the address. We drove right by it on the way in. The bathroom door in our room was half off the hinges and would not close. There was no hot water for showers on the morning of checkout.”

The hotel was clean and all the staff was helpful. The closet bar was low (for disabled use) but the safe filled the area where clothes would hang.“We thought the hotel was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff and bell staff were helpful and although the shuttle wasn't available for our early, they had a cab waiting to pick us up when we checked out.”

Don't recommend staying here

Well I arrived about 10:30. When I arrived the lady that checked me in....I went to my room and the key didn't work...I went all the way back the mile long hall way just to let her know my key wasn't working, she slid then through the key thing, I went all the way back the mile long hallway, was about to go in the room and was wondering why there were shoes and a coat in the room. I freaked out when somebody asked who I was. I told the people I was sorry. They had put me in someone else's room. So I had to make the long journey back to the front, by the time I got checked into the room, I had gone up and down the long hallway a total of 4 times.

Clean but not 5 star

Very long hallways seemed like it took forever to get to our room but very quiet the whole weekend. The big problem we had was the shuttle from the airport...It only runs mornings and night so when our flight got in at 3:30pm we were at the airport with no ride but good thing it was a saturday and we do know some people in anchorage. We did enjoy the swimming pool but would have been better if there was less chlorine and if they used less bleach in their sheets.I also think it would have been good to have a microwave in the rooms instead of having to pay $10 a day.The staff was nice but I guess you just expect things from hotels after working the front desk of one for awhile.
