Wonderful Place

What a wonderful place to stay. We were 3 mothers looking to add some adventure to our lives we found it here. We couldnt ask for a better place to stay the staff was great always helpful pointing us in the right direction. Just blocks way from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy it all. But if you are looking for room service at 3 am and an upscale, ritsy atmosphere then this place is not for you. But if you are down to earth and easy to please this is a wonderful place to be.

We found a home at the St. Pierre

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel St. Pierre and we both agree it is a wonderful place to stay in New Orleans. 2 blocks from Bourbon Street and a quick 5 block walk to Cafe Dumond. I brought coffee and bignets each morning and enjoyed the quiet of early morning in the French Quarter.
The staff was extremely helpful as they were attentive to any and all needs we had. I simply cannot say anything bad about them. They were awesome.
This was our honeymoon and we did a lot of the tourist activities as well as sampling as much of the local resturants as one can do in 6 days.
If you are looking for a "classy" and hoity-toity place where you can get lobster at 4 am, good luck.
If you are looking for a good place to use as home base while you discover the finest qualities of the french quarter, you can find no better place than the Hotel St. Pierre. Be advised that the brick cobblestone walkways don't lend themselves to a luggage cart but I found that appreciative tipping goes a very long way and in my opinion the staff deserves it.
We will be back again and again. We found a home at the St. Pierre. I hope this was helpful

Don't go there!

This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. We booked a suite and when we got to the hotel to check in we were immediately disappointed in the physical appearance. The lobby looked like a flop house with a bunch of people sitting around. The woman who checked us in made a joke about not having our reservation. Then they complained about the amount of luggage we had and led us up this precipitous stairway to a two-room suite with NO WINDOWS! It was so depressing and didn't smell too good either. We unpacked and became more depressed every time we opened a drawer or closet. It just didn't feel clean. Finally, we decided we just could not stay in the room, so we requested another room assignment. They did accommodate us and the second room, while not a suite was much more acceptable with two windows that looked out onto the street. It felt a little cleaner, too, until I opened the shower curtain. The shower nozzle drizzled so bad we had to request that they change it. They did. It helped. But the floor of the tub was fiberglass and the finish was peeling off of it and it gave under your feet. It was just not comfortable. I would recommend that anyone looking at this hotel stop where they are and look elsewhere. We would never stay there again, and would never, ever recommend it to anyone. The only saving grace was that one of the clerks was very friendly and helpful. There were always a lot of people hanging around though. It felt like we were staying in someone's home we weren't comfortable with.

Old or "Charming?"

Location is the main thing. It's in the French Quarter, three blocks from Bourbon Street. If you need a place to crash, then it's okay. If you drive to the hotel, expect to pay for parking that's 5 blocks away. If you need a roomy place, ask for the larger rooms. I had to turn sideways to get in the door to the room(French Doors). Service was nice, and they don't worry about you taking ice for the coolers. Used to be the location for the Jazz Hall of Fame.

We ended our tour in the South eastern states at the Big Easy. Enjoyed the room overall it was very adaptable for a family of 4 with two teenage boys. Breakfast was basic (buns, donuts & danish) the boys enjoyed but we ventured out for a more complete breakfast. would have rated the cleaniness higher if we did not have a mouse in the room who
nibbled into our stash of nuts. 2 blocks from Bourbon st but nice and quiet!

Not for sleeping

The hotel seems to cater to college students that stumble back to the hotel from Bourbon St at all hours. Not conducive with the other guests sleeping. One night when the students were out the pool until 1:30, the management staff claimed there was nothing they could do. Thet explained to my wife and I that was "part of" staying in the French Quarter.

A great find in the French Quarter

pros: the courtyard, free parking, and serviceThe courtyard is beautiful! There are so many varieties of plants and the path throughout the hotel is like a small fun labyrinth. The hotel room is very quaint. If you are looking for a hotel room that has new furniture and new bathroom fixtures then this place is not for you. But who goes to the French Quarter to stay in their hotel room all day anyway? The hotel room is clean and that's what mattered to me. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Do not stay here!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel because their sister hotel Andrew Jackson Hotel did not have a double bed room we had reserved. After being shown a double bed room at Andrew Jackson, then told an hour later it was not available, our credit card company told us to check the Hotel St. Pierre. The Andrew Jackson Hotel staff told us no double bed rooms were available at the Hotel St. Pierre. When we arrived less than 1 hour later, there were 2 double bed rooms available, but there was a problem. Only one room had heat. (the hotel web site states that the rooms are heated). The room with heat was only available with an "upgrade" of $20 per night. At this point I gave up. It was 40 degrees outside. To be fair to the Hotel St. Pierre, I emailed the G.M. after we returned home, asking why we could not have a double bed room that we had reserved. He replied that he was "vaguely familiar with the situation" and that he would get back with me. I never heard from him again. My credit card company contacted the hotel & the G.M. stated he would resolve the situation with me personally. When I told the credit card company he had not gotten back with me, they contacted him again. The G.M. told the credit card company that the hotel server crashed and he had no information about what happened during my stay. He offered me a 2 free night stay at the hotel. I declined. Why would I go back to this hotel? First my room wasnt available, then it was available, then after it was shown to us, it wasn't available. Their sister hotel had no double rooms available, then it had 2, but the one room with heat (in 40 degree weather) was an extra charge of $20 a night? It has taken me over 1 month to get this situation resolved & I still have no explanation of what happened. I love New Orleans, and I will go back again, but I will never stay at this hotel again.
