The hotel provided the exclusiveness that we desired complimented by superior service. Breakfast was promptly prepared early each morning for us to dine by the pool. Upon our arrival on February 11/07, we discovered that the place was adjacent to a major construction zone (a condo building is under construction). We were awakened at 7:20 a.m. every morning with the arrival of the construction crew, and the sound of loud trucks moving equipment, etc. The staff never disclosed this situation to us even though we had made it clear to them that we were looking for a very quiet and restful place. We were charged over $400 per night for this extreme inconvenience. Under the circumstances, we approached the owner for a discount on our bill, but she refused to do anything. When we woke up on the first morning there was NO hot water. We called the front desk and they indicated they were having problems getting hot water to that part of the hotel. My husband asked if we could be guaranteed hot water by the following morning and the answer was 'no.' The staff acted surprised that this answer was not acceptable. We packed our bags and went to the Ritz for the rest of our stay. The hotel gardens are beautiful, the service is excellent, and the location is the best in Naples if you're staying in a hotel. Don't even consider any other hotel. IMHO it's a little over priced.
