The first interaction was the lack of communication from the front desk about the shuttle. The shuttle was unpredictable at best. One passenger even got into a heated argument with the shuttle driver. The shuttle itself was old, worn, and did not have use of air conditioning in the heat of late July. My room was not entirely cleaned when I arrived the bars of soap from the previous guest were still out and a used towel was behind the door. Even though I had a non-smoking room and had non-smoking rooms surrounding my room, the hallway was heavy with the smell of smoke, which permeated slightly into my room. The location of the hotel was far from everything.
