The hotel was very nice and located

The hotel was very nice and located across the street from the Bayside Market. We spent our evening listening to live area music by the bay and shopping at the mall. The mall has a nice food court with a variety of food choices reasonably priced. Check out the Hard Rock- we loved the drinks and atmosphere!
We stayed pre cruise and were very pleased with the location close to the port.
Beds were VERY comfortable!!!

Nothing.Cold, dirty, noisy, uncomfortable, terrible food.“This hotel is outrageously overpriced. It has no redeeming features. The room was ice cold, rooms were not made up until late in the afternoon (after several requests), dinner was inedible, no food or drinks available between breakfast and dinner. Walls are paper thin so the rooms are noisy. We would not stay there again under any circumstances.”

Location was excellent, walked across the street for shops and dining, short cab trips to ships and airport.Older building with narrow hallways.“This is a sound choice for those taking cruises. Things to do across the street and right between the airport and the cruise lines. The hotel staff was very helpful. We stayed a day before the cruise and a day after the cruise. The only negative comment is the hotel is old.”

This hotel isn't that great, but it's reasonably priced, and it's in a good spot. The employees were helpful and nice. This hotel is clean, and everything seems relatively new, but it's not that pretty. The wifi is free. I good choice if you're on a

My friend and I stayed one night before

My friend and I stayed one night before going on a 7 day cruise. When we got back one week later, we called the hotel because my friend left his winter jacket and shirt in the closet in our room. We told them the day and room number we were there, but they did not have the clothes. I would think they would keep it for a week since their hotel caters to people who go on crusies from the downtown port. My friend had to go back to NJ in very cold weather without his jacket.

Never would I stay at this hotel again!

After sitting in traffic for nearly an hour in a smelly cab, we arrived at the hotel, which from the outside looked as though it had seen better days. We walked into the lobby and found ourselves in the middle of way too many people for the space. The railings on the stairs were broken, and the floor tiles were all cracked... The desk staff acted as though we were really bothering them by requesting to check-in. I reserved a room overlooking the port, I was told I had that none were available. I protested, and they reluctantly reduced my rate. I finally got my keys, and headed for the elevators, two of which were out of service. Arriving at our floor, we were greeted by a terrible smell, a mixture of bathroom deodorizer, and mildew... in other words, a locker room. Our room was not much better, the bed had stains all over the comforter, the window didn't quite close, so the sounds of the street festival below (which lasted till nearly 2am) poured into the room. The carpet was tattered and stained, the bathroom was old, and dingy, and about the size of a small walk-in closet. It was as if they seriously worked hard on figuring out the absolute minimum of space required to call it a bathroom. The showerhead sprayed in every direction but that which it was designed, and the tub was stained. The magazines were sticky? and the coffee packets in the room were about 8 months out of date. The ceiling was stained, and pieces of it were flaking off. The furniture in the room looked like it had endured several decades of service.

Once we settled, we met others from the group at the hotel bar for a drink. I ordered a gin & tonic, and it was served to me with a dead fly in it. I told the bartender about the extra protein in my drink and he questioned me as though I had placed the dead fly in my own drink. He then asked me if I would like another, I said no, absolutely not. We left and went to Hard Rock Cafe for proper drinks and dinner. The next morning on our way down to breakfast, the elevator broke between floors, and we sat there with roughly 10 other people for a miserable 30 minutes. Once we made it out, we had breakfast in the restaurant (which cost $45 for two). Breakfast consisted of a buffet with hot items on one side and cold on the other. All of it appeared and tasted like that which most hotels offer as a free breakfast. The waitress appeared to be serving about 20 tables, so even the smallest request took quite some time.

We checked out and complained about all that we had encountered to the desk clerk, who promptly responded with a simple, "sorry ‘bout that, have a nice day" I travel for business usually every week, and have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the past several years, and I have never had such bad experience with a hotel as I did here in Miami. Next time I cruise, I will either chance flying in the day of departure, or stay somewhere a little further from the port. Bottom line is the ONLY good thing this hotel has going for it is its location, everything else about it stinks, literally (in some cases).

A DISGUSTING MESS....avoid at all costs

We were met at the front door by a very efficient employee who quickly took our bags to the reception. A superb start but from here on it went downhill! We had asked for a non-smoking room and found that we had been allocated a smoking room. The receptionist changed it to a non-smoking room but her, obviously senior, companion grabbed that room key and then proceeded to change the room. Her attitude was a disgrace. I should have noticed from the other two receptionists expressions that we were being moved to a pits of a room....and that is what it was.
If you get a room at the back of this hotel on the upper floors then you most likely will get no sleep. There are massive aircon units that make such a racket throughout the night that I defy anyone to sleep through the noise. The room was the most abysmal hotel room we have ever stayed at. Amazingly small with a minute bathroom where you could virtually have a shower, use the washbasin and toilet without really moving more than a foot or so. Added to this it was old and grotty...ughh.
The furniture in the room was only fit for the scrapheap...for instance the table leg stuck out at such an angle the joint was exposed and it was ready to fall down!
I am amazed that this hotel gets away with providing such an awful room and my sincere advice is to avoid this hotel like the plague.

Loved being so close to the bayside and port.Poor service, breakfast was over priced for what was offered, my friends went to the bar for cocktails and felt the service was awful.“Customer service /front desk was very good. I called ahead to confirm and they were very nice. I arrived early and there was no problem we were given rooms many hours before standard check in time. Great location to bayside and fast to port of Miami if your crushing most always stay in a 4 or 5 star we like to spoil ourselves like anyone but I would stay here again as long.”

The location to the cruise ship piers

The location to the cruise ship piers was good. Bayside shopping good too.On a noisy and busy street with low flying airplanes throughout the night.“We arrived 2 hours early of check-in but were allowed in our rooms, which was great. We made an easy across-the-street walk to the water front and shopping. (no beach) We could see the cruise ships come in from our upper level bayside room (which we requested and received) The beds were incredibly comfortable. The room was adequately sized, not large.”

The location was great for our cruise.Older and a little dirty.“The hotel was great for the location. It was across from Bayside park and there were lots of things for us to do the night before our cruise without having to take a taxi anywhere. The hotel is older but in fairly good shape. We were really only there to sleep.”
