If you are willing to put up with unresponsive management, the hotel itself was pretty good but showing its age. We had problems with a big party going on in the lobby until 4 AM Sunday, management didn't see anything wrong with that and only did something about it after we complained them. The sleep sofa was broken and smoke alarm kept going off until they removed it at 10 PM. Indoor pool dirty and uninviting, outdoor facilities quite good but the snack bar and pool bar closed at 5 PM. There are two restaurants, we dined in the lesser one, and the wait staff was downright rude. Bar staff was pleasant though, and the better restaurant looked nice. The only problem we had was a clogged toilet, but after alerting the people at the front desk, the maintenance guy was there within 10 minutes to remedy the problem. The pools, hot tubs, tennis courts and shuffleboard were well maintained and a definite plus. I only wish the outdoor Grille Restaruant would have been open later and some outdoor entertainment at night by the pool would have been nice. We made our reservations through the travel website; when we arrived, everything was as promised EXCEPT the room description said "No oceanview." However, we had a very nice view of the ocean from our hotel balcony! The staff was attentive and very cordial. The public areas were kept clean and inviting. After checking out 2 other hotels (1 was filthy & disgusting, the other couldn't even tell us if they had room because their computers were down!), we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. The front desk staff was friendly, & even let us look at the room before comitting to checking in. As soon as we saw the room & stunning oceanfront view, we knew we wanted to stay there. The room had a small kitchennette, nice bathroom (plenty of towels--a rarity for a hotel!), 2 double beds, coffee pot, TV, sleeper sofa, balcony, & a fantastic small gas fireplace. We ate in the hotel restaurant, Reflections--the meal & service were delicious beyond words. The room was clean, & did not smell like a smoking room--that was all they had left.
