I stayed here for 6 nights recently. The hotel location is great walking distance to the Fisherman's Wharf and public transportation accessible. The registration crew is exceptional, my room is adequate and the free breakfast is a bonus. I will stay there again if I am in San Francisco

The location in the Wharf is great. It is right near everything. We took shuttles to and from the airport and the cost was $20/person. The staff were helpful and the complimentary breakfast is decent for a quick bight to eat.

Good location for the first-time traveler to San Fran. Hotel was new and clean. Breakfast bar was good, and saved us alot of money that we would have spent at restaurants instead. Only downside is that parking is about */ night - but if you only plan to stay in the city you don't need a car as public transit/cabs/walking is very accesible.

Stayed for 5 nights, the photos are current and the amenities are as described. Very clean, nicely decorated and the staff was courteous and friendly.
The FULL free breakfast was a nice surprise, I expected a Continental Breakfast but the hotel provides a Hot Breakfast for Free that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, omelets, toast, bagels, cereal, etc.
Location is great there is a major grocery store 2 blocks away and 2 drugstores 1 block away. The hotel is 2 blocks form the Water and some rooms have a view of the Bay, we had a view of Coit Tower. Very convenient to MUNI trolleys, busses, streetcars and the Cable Cars.
An airport shuttle would be nice but we took BART from the Airport to the Embarcadero for $5 then a cab to the Hotel. It would have been $50-$60 for a cab but using the public transportation total was $15.
Only complaint was the maid missed cleaning my room 2 consecutive days, but the front desk apologized and made restitution.Overall I would definantly stay there again.

The location was great and my husband and I had a wonderful time. Many of the sites were within walking distance and the hotel was only one street behind Fisherman's Wharf. We had a great view of the street vendors, trolley cars, etc. Breakfast was an added plus - food was good and plentiful - many other restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner. Would definitely stay again. Merle from Boston, MA - Stayed 3 nights in October 2008

expensive, and an unwanted extra

The Holiday Inn Express on Fisherman's Wharf is pretty much what you expect for a hotel in a tourist area. The free breakfast is transfats in several different flavors, the room is quite small, but clean and well appointed. Not given in the hotel rate was the 42.00 a day parking fee. However, something normally taken for granted, assures that I will never return to this place. Free Wi-FI is what the ad says, and it is in fact free. It is also through SuperClick, who does tracking and site sniffing on every move you make on the internet. Their tracking is so intrusive (back button will not work, etc) that I finally hauled out my AT&T card and stopped using the hotel system. This is the first time I have run into "SuperCLICK", but a quick google of the name shows it probably will not be the last.

Yet another thing to ask about when making reservations.

The location was great. Close to Pier 39, Alcatraz, and 2 of the major tour companies. Front desk staff was very helpful. A very quiet place. Would recommend it for anyone going to San Francisco.

Stayed just one night. Hotel very clean, updated rooms, location within walking distance of many activities near wharf. Breakfast offered a lot of variety. Inside was very quiet. Mix of business and family travelers in hotel. Staff was friendly, informative and accomodating. Parking was worth it to stay until 5 pm on day of departure, with in/out priveldges, for no additional fee! Would definitely stay again.
