We selected this hotel because of its park and fly package. The hotel itself was nice, rooms clean and bed comfortable. It is conveniently located near the Oakland Airport & has a shuttle that runs frequently from hotel to the terminal. However, I have never in my life ever met a ruder hotel staff. When we were checking in asking basic questions such as, what time do we need to be in the lobby to catch a shuttle that will get us to the airport at 5:00am, the clerk looked at us like we were complete idiots. She could never give us a straight answer and was extrememly rude in all of her responses. In the morning at check out, we had to wait at the counter for a considerable amount of time while the clerk (a different one from the night before) sat in the lobby watching a TV show. When she finally got up to help us she acted like we were a terrible inconvenience. The shuttle bus driver wasn't much of an improvement but at least he said good morning. The only hotel staff that showed us any courtesy was the maid that brought us some extra towels. (I have never figured out why when your reservation is for 4 people hotels only give you enough towels for 3.)
In all, the hotel itself was nice for what it is, the park & fly was convenient. But I would never stay there again due to the treatment of the staff. I can't imgagine that Holiday Inn would tolerate such customer service. I will think twice before staying at any Holiday Inn in the future.

BAAAAAAAAD EXPERIENCE !!

There were panhandlers asking for money on hotel grounds and coming to open doors. A big problem for us was that the sports and premium channels were not working, only 2 regular channels were barely working. we were there for a football weekend and paid for Sat. & Sun. nights, so we could go to the Raider game and then watch the late game in our rooms. When we found out we couldn't watch the games and that the pool tables in rec. room could not be used, nor was there anything else that was in working order, we decided to check out and leave. We really feel that our money should have been refunded for Sunday night. We also feel that Expedia should have interceeded on our behalf. This Hotel was nothing like the description on Expedia's website. On top of everything else the lock on the bathroom door was broken and one of us was locked inside for over 30 minutes.

Parking lot - not a hotel

We thought we'd stay close to the airport because we had an early morning flight. When we got there we discovered that the Coliseum was close enough that the Hotel (or perhaps the hotel employees)decided to sell parking spaces for $10 for the Sunday night Raiders game. So we couldn't even park in a spot by our room. When the game was over, the Raiders fans thought that the $10 entitled them to tailgate outside our room for the rest of the night (playing rap music from their car "BOOM BOOM BOOM"). The staff at the hotel just laughed at us (although they admitted that 5 other guests had requested a refund) and basically did nothing. It finally died down around 1 AM. Clarion need to decide whether they are running a hotel or a parking lot.
