We drove around four times before getting into the parking lot. It is also situated right next to a cemetery, which was kind of weird. The hotel was under construction due to water damage, which was not noted when I booked the room. I accidentally booked a smoking room and was unable to get it changed, but would have been charged a whole night's stay to have canceled, and since we paid online they wouldn't let us pay for an upgrade to a non-smoking suite, which they did have available. When we got there, the first room we were given had a family of ants in the bathroom. We were moved to a second room that was freezing cold and the heater didn't work and they had no maintenance or housekeeping people working to help fix it. We were moved to a third room where we ended up staying. It reeked so badly that even the stuff in our suitcase (which we kept closed as much as possible) ended up smelling of stale smoke. I chose a Holiday Inn Express because they're usually pretty nice, but I guess that is just the new ones, not older hotels that have been converted to one. The tub was great and a good size. The suite was only an additional $* when I booked the room. The room was large and clean. I had a nice view of the cemetery next door. The road to the entrance goes one way and I had to keep passing it and making u-turns to get in. The continental breakfast sucked and stay away from the cinnamon buns. The webpage said Days Inn. We spent 30 minutes looking for a Days Inn until I called them in frustration and discovered the change. We reserved a nonsmoking room. The room had a "no smoking" sign. It also had ashtrays and smelled terrible. The A/C barely worked. The room was stuffy and stank all night. My clothing in my luggage even smelled the next day. The staff response was to give me a card to call the manager when he/she got in. My only complaint is how the hotel parking lot entrance is located. It is accessible only on one side of the street.
