Never treated like this before!

My wife had reserved the haunted room for me for my birthday 3 weeks in advance to get the room. Finally get there go to check in and they say oh there is someone still staying in the room.they tried to offer me a different room but that was the only room i wanted to stay in i did book it 3 weeks in advance!!! the lady that was in the room said they were staying again. so the manager comes over to me and said i cant have the room! Thats not my problem that they want to stay again! whats the point of reservations for that room 3 weeks ahead of time.Never go there and dont trust them with reservations. they did not offer me anything for going all the way there for nothing just that my reservation did not mean anything and got treated like dirt.

Horrid Holiday Brunch

Planned well in advance making reservations for the Easter Sunday Brunch at the Hotel Bethlehem. (I made several calls to very confused people in the dining area before I was given all the correct info on Brunch hours on a holiday, etc. I should have figured something was wrong at that point as info was so contradictory and erroneous)
What a disappointment! Despite early reservations we were seated at a table adjacent to the main entry way of the hotel so it was like eating amidst turmoil of people coming and going. Took them at least 10 minutes to bring the high chair requested with reservations. Staff utterly careless and nonchalant. Brunch servers at some of the food stations actually had their backs turned and were ignoring people standing and waiting for their service. One buffet foodserver told me he was tired and his leg hurt. Some food items had no serving utensils and as food was depleted there was no prompt bringing out a new supply. The fresh omelet was one of the few tasty things. Raw oysters were tepid, not well chilled. Desserts were not replaced so some people at my table had only some odd scaps left behind. The apple pie looked good, but there were no utensils to pick up your slice with. Some at the table got coffee served, others had to call out to servers for their beverage as our waitress was thoroughly inattentive. It was annoying to have an undeserved 20 per cent gratuity automatically on the bill. Sub par food, poor service, what a total disappointment. Surely holiday brunchers deserve more than this attitudey rip off.

The hotel could not find my reservation

The hotel could not find my reservation then i showed the young snippy girl my reservation ,we stood there for about 10/15 minutes.she finaly gave us a room key.the ninth floor, last room of the hotel ! i booked the date in March & was treated rudely. We rushed to a wedding in Allentown, made it there the bride was waiting for us to be seated then the wedding started. Other service @ hotel was nice & helpful. The reception there was very organized. But because of the check in experience and a tray of food in the hall from the time we checked in to check out i would not return to hotel.

I felt very unsafe due to this hotel's location. It was very dark and decrepit looking. The rooms were tiny and the bathrooms were even smaller. I was very unhappy here and would not stay here again.

It is not the luxury hotel typical for the major cities, but it is a registered historical building. It is very charming in its own unique way, almost creating a separate category for itself.

Disappointing service upon arrival

The room was spacious, comfortable and accommodated by business and personal needs. The decor is old and a little tired, bathroom could have used updating but everything was very clean. The bed was unusually
comfortable!

That being said, I most likely would not return. I arrived after a full day of travel at 8 PM. There was one person at the desk, no bellman, no valet. The parking area adjacent and below the hotel was dark and deserted and I was expected to leave my car there and walk to the hotel. It wasn't the length of the walk but the safety issue of a woman walking alone in a deserted parking lot. I ended up parking illegally and getting a ticket. Not to mention I had to drag two suitcases with me on this trek!

Although I actually liked the hotel in most other respects, it would not be my choice should I return to the area.
