Worst hotel. Stay SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

pros: heh...they offer express checkoutI gave this hotel 2 chances to make me happy....they failed horribly both times. First time I went I had tickets to the Tony's. I locked them in the safe with my car keys and since the idiots there have the safe attached to the fridge at the bottom...It leaked water in to the safe nearly ruining my tickets. Also, this hotel must have some kind of policy on do not disturbs signs that has the maids knocking on your door when the sign is up. This is a true story...I had my "Do Not Disturb" sign up and housekeeping actually called me to verify that I did not want to be disturbed. Think about that for a moment. So the second time i stayed there I decided not to put anything in the safe. When I hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign this time they knocked on my door to make sure I really didn't want service. THIS PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT BEYOND MEASURE. Seriously folks, I'd recommend staying somewhere else. No late fare room service, the bar is DEAD and the foot traffic on the street is such that you can't negotiate to get a cab or to walk to the subway. I'd go to the Doubletree. Basically they have the same rates and the foot traffic is slower. You can also hail a cab easily because they're always driving by, unlike the Hilton where you have to catch a cab on 41st and construction makes that street totally dead. You can easily wait 20 to 30 mins for a cab there.

Amazing location in the heart of Times

Amazing location in the heart of Times Square.“The location of this hotel is amazing. Madame Toussauds wax museum is about 20 feet to the right, both movie theaters right next door, Broadway a block away, the train station 6 blocks away, and an Applebees connected to the hotel. You talk about location? This was the best. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff (especially the concierge) was very friendly, and the room was nice. We had a nice view; the buildings in the back and the water a distance to the left. You could also see the hustle and bustle below. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. There was also a mini-bar in the room, if you don't mind spending $4 for a Snickers Bar or $6 for a beer (hey, still cheaper than Yankee Stadium). The only two faults I can point out are: A) Yeah it's Manhattan and the Hilton, but man, the food at the restaurant is EXPENSIVE! It's $24 for an egg breakfast, $7 for a side of toast, and about $20 for a Belgium waffle. B) As nice as the hotel beauty products are, the bath towels were rough and almost scratchy. Again, the pros outweigh the cons big time. I give this hotel an A on location alone; the towels and food cost keep it from getting an A+. I definitely recommend.”

Fantastic Hotel

This is at the very top of the best hotels I've stayed at in NYC. Reasons why:

-Big rooms
-Exceptional service
-Top-notch central location (literally in Times Sq)
-Good view of NYC in the two rooms we stayed in

I stayed here for a week in Summer of 07 and once in Jan 07 and both times I was extremely happy all around - starting with the reasons listed above.

The hotel can be pricey - let's face it...which NYC hotels don't cost an arm and leg? - but if you book it in advance you can get a great deal. We paid $220/night and it was money very well spent. We would pay more if we had to because the product is outstanding and better than most NYC hotel rooms.

Location, decor of lobby and parts of the room, the room was very good size.Bathroom tile was dirty, wall paper peeling a bit.“Overall a good value. I would have been disappointed if it had cost us full price b/c our room was a bit shabby for four stars. The tile had mildew; the rest of the room was really clean and nicely decorated. Location was perfect.”

Huge room by NY standards with great views due to lots of space around building.Very old TV in fitness center.“The Hilton Times Square was a pleasant surprise! The rooms large and are well appointed, and the unimpeded airy views of the city and Hudson were spectacular. Niceties included a Cuisenaire coffeemaker for two, a very high water fixture with great pressure in the shower, an large deep tub, sparkling white bath and accoutrements, closet full length mirrors, a lighted make up mirror, and a flat panel huge TV! The fitness center had only 5 machines and a weight station in a small room with a semi functioning TV. Staff was friendly and helpful, but the restaurant was a self serve buffet with bumbling wait staff and mediocre fare. Umbrellas supplied by the front desk in case of inclement weather were a nice touch too. Overall, a very pleasant stay.”
